Climb aboard an air-conditioned coach in central Porto and receive an introduction to the city’s history from your guide. After a 1-hour drive, you’ll arrive in Guimarães — a town renowned for its cobbled streets and UNESCO-listed old town.
During a walking tour, you’ll admire rows of candy-colored houses and see monuments that date back to the medieval ages. Historical landmarks abound in Guimarães Old Town: see, too, the 10th-century Guimarães Castle (Castelo de Guimarães) and the grand Paço Duques de Bragança.
Then, explore independently for a short while before continuing to Braga — the oldest Christian city in Portugal. Famed for its extravagant Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations, the city combines contemporary chic with ancient charm. On a guided tour, you’ll see landmarks such as Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary and Portugal’s oldest cathedral, Sé Cathedral.
Before returning to Porto in an air-conditioned coach, you’ll enjoy some relaxed free time to have lunch at your own expense.
After your tour, you’ll receive a ticket for a hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour of Porto, valid for 48 hours from first use. Please see the Itinerary for a list a stops serviced.
This was a fantastic tour. George was very knowledgable and we had a great day. He even recommended some places in Porto for me to check out later. The two places were wonderful :)

Great value small group tour for the Guimarães part of the tour. Thoroughly enjoyed my day and got to see all the places of interest that interested me. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyable trip. Very knowledgeable guide Susana was very approachable and shared lots of passion for this particular region of Portugal. Trip was very good, however I think that we would have enjoyed Braga Sanctuary (Church) more had we had a little longer free time to explore independently.
This was s lovely tour with an excellent guide. I enjoyed the two places we visited very much. The guide also recommended a very nice place for lunch. The tour was quite flexible so he worked with the rainy weather to give me the best day out.
Guide's English was very poor and the information provided was not so interesting. Anyway, the bus was excellent and the places we've seen compensated this. It's better to make this bus tour than taking the train.
