Another rainy day walking tour!! That turned out to be great day!! Renato our guide was knowledgeable on the area sights and foods.
We stopped at more places than I thought we would get to!! Don't eat breakfast because you are in for many yummy treats!!
First stop was for coff and Natas a local pastry that you will Then we went to store near a market. Different Wine cheese bread and hams were offered to taste and purchase if you like. Then on to a local sandwich shop to try a pork sandwich and local beer Superbock. All were good but you must pace yourself.. The tour goes on. A local wine store near the water to try different Ports. we ordered some to ship home Then to a fresh fish tasting. I did find out I'm def not a sardine fan.. Fun to try though. Last stop was off the beaten path. You felt like you were at Grandmas house!! We had cod fritters, vegetables, meat fritters, and green wine. One of my favorite tours we have done
Our guide Sara was absolutely amazing! Her knowledge about Porto itself and the surrounding areas was fantastic. The tour shows you all the important landmarks in Porto and gets you immersed in the culture, trying many different local food and wine. Recommend to everyone of all ages, fantastic day!
Sid Sid and Sid....so much has been said about him...every thing is true. Rest you can read from the tour description.
A great introduction to Porto food and wine. Sample local food in places tourists normally wouldn and #39;t go. Here and #39;s a hint, skip breakfast before the tour.
The trip was very good, Sid was very informative and helpful and there was a lot more food to try than we expected.
An excellent tour and great introduction to Porto, Portuguese history and cuisine.
This was with tour guide Sid and as we were the only guests we had an excellent personalised tour. Sid was a very intelligent, well informed guide and a very nice young man who could not have done more for us. The food and wine, and the venues were great too!
This was a really good tour and introduction to Porto. Sid was a great guide and there was plenty of variety in the places we visited and the food we tried. We got an insight into the history of the city as well as some very helpful recommendations on things to do for the rest of our stay.
Our afternoon tasting some local Portugese food and specialties was great!! Earlier in the day we had gone on a walking tour of Porto with Virginia, and we were pleased that she also took us on the food and wine tour. No need for lunch beforehand, as the tastings are substantial enough to take you through the afternoon until dinner!! Virigina was a fabulous guide in explaining the different things we would be having. Everything from the tasty tarts, liqueurs, port wine, cheeses, sausages, ,francesinhaI think it was, and other sandwich as well were all really good and fun to have at local shops.
We would highly recommend this tour. Virginia being a native of Porto is very knowledgeable and explained the different foods and traditions to us. She is quite personable and friendly and led the tour well in a very relaxed style, and also managed time and communication with the shop owners/staff in a professional way. A must for anyone visiting Porto!!
I absolutely loved this tour. Virginia our tour guide is from Porto and has a degree in Archeology. She was full of information about the city and the local foods. The food and wine we had was outstanding and I enjoyed everything I tried.
We, my wife and I had a thoroughly great tour with our guide for the day. We also met two other couples on the day, and ended up all meeting the next day for a further , homemade wine and tasting!
We would recommend the tour highly and thought the tour was interesting and personalised, by our local guide.
Awesome food with some awesome people! This made our Porto trip!
Fantastic guide Sid made our day truly memorable! We sampled a whole range of food, and enjoyed his company and enthusiasm! Sid was knowledgable, considerate and flexible. We spent ages trying Port and ham, and must have overrun the tour time, but Sid didnt' rush us at any point! Simply awesome!
This tour was fantastic - Sid, the local guide, really felt like a friend, and my husband and I had a great time spending the afternoon walking around the city with him. We were both defeated by the franchesinha, haha! It was exactly what we were looking for, he took us to places we would not have found on our own.
I booked this tour the same week I headed to Porto and was really happy with everything about it except the rain :. The gorgeous Virginia is a wonderful ambassador for the sights, food and wine of this beautiful city and it was great value. I thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto!
BEST trip EVER!!! Our tour guide was wonderful and the entire group really enjoyed themselves! A
Had a great tour with Virginia. She was very informative and took us to places we wouldn't have found on our own. The food and wine was fantastic especially the port tasting. Would recommend to anyone visiting Porto.
This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Sid, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and really made the tour interesting. This tour is incredible value for the cost and we enjoyed full portions of a lot Porto's best known snacks and drinks. Highly recommended!!!
Incredible tour for the experience, deliciousness and value for money - once again all down to our tour guide Sid, who we also had for the Porto Segway Tour provided by the same company. I also could not recommend this tour highly enough, as it provides you with the time to truly get to know the city from your tour guide, all while sitting comfortably eating delicious food and sampling excellent wine.
We sampled many traditional dishes during the course of the tour, which included: a custard tart covered in cinnamon, codfish cakes washed down with a shot of Eduardino a traditional Porto drink and the Francesinha, a packed meat sandwich covered in cheese and a fried egg with chips and spicy sauce.
Wine and cheese was also sampled at a local wine shop, with the locals there also incredibly friendly and happy to divulge information on the port wine and traditional cheeses we were being served.
This was our second tour with Sid, a true Porto local, who knows the city inside out. Any question we threw at him about the history of Porto, or the significance of the cafes and restaurants we were eating at, he answered and we remembered. His hilarious anecdotes and experiences of Porto made it so we felt like we were talking to a friend rather than a tour guide. He is one of the major reasons we had such a fantastic time in Porto, one that I am sure will not be forgotten for a long time :
P.S. Please read my review on the Porto Segway Tour, also provided by the local tour company. Would highly recommend it to get to know the architecture and history of the city whilst having loads of fun!
We ate, drank and saw a lot! Our guide Virginia did a great job providing historical background while walking to each location. She was very friendly, knowledegable and kept a good pace. My wife was the only Portuguese person on the tour but Virginia spoke English so everyone could be included.
We did this at the start of our trip and Virginia helped us by suggesting other places we could visit during the rest of our Holiday. She had lots of information about the City and tailored the tour to meet our needs. So glad we did this, I don't the holiday would of been as good as it was if we hadn't done this at the start.
Be hungry loads of food. Disappointed in Franchesine sandwich. Every thing else lovely. Our guide was very engaging
