This tour was really excellent. Our guide 'John', he said that was the English version of his name, was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He spoke in Portuguese, Spanish for the other guests and English for us, not an easy thing to repeat the info three times in different languages. He explained everything in detail and had a wealth of knowledge about the history of both the Portuguese and Spanish influence in the area. Lunch was really good, traditional Spanish food from the region. We had a really enjoyable day.

Passeio para renovar/reforçar nossa Fé!!
Excellent our guide, I believed I changed her name to Paula, picked up at hotel on time, great choice of restaurant for lunch, which was included in the tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide.
Highly recommended...very well spent day with a knowledgeable guide! And not to forget...the food was excellent! Great day!
Our guide, Christian, was great! He shared a lot of great information and tips with us about Portugal, the Spanish border region, and of course about Santiago de Compostela and the Camino. Christian is a super multi-tasker, as driver and guide, he drove us around, explained things in English then translated to Portuguese for some guests, took care of the group - all while staying patient and enthusiastic the whole time. It was quite impressive.
Christian picked us up from our hotel at 7:40AM Portugal time in a 9 seater mini-van for 1 driver and 8 guests. We picked up other guests then were on our way. The mini-van was clean and for the most part comfortable after a few hours in the full car, it does start to feel a bit cramped. We arrived in Santiago before the 12:00PM Spain time mass, so we had about an hour free time to attend the mass or explore the city before we met the group again for lunch. The lunch at a local tapas restaurant, which was included, was excellent and abundant - with lots of bread, soup, tapas, wine, dessert, and coffee. After lunch we had about another 1.5 hours of free time to explore the city before heading back down to Portugal.
On our drive back to Portugal, we stopped for about 20 minutes to explore the small beautiful fortified town of Valenca do Minho. We then headed back to Porto, which took about an hour from Valenca, and arrived at around 6:30PM Portugal time.
We truly enjoyed our tour of Santiago and Valenca with Christian and we would definitely recommend it to all.
The tour was conducted by livingtours. Excellent guide Jonathan, comfortable touring in an 8 seater van, good commentary and explanations, fantastic tapas lunch included and sufficient free time. A must do!!
Amazing city. Lots of history. Good shops and lots of restaurants to have lunch or dinner.

Excellent guide. Provided maps of Santiago de Compostela with detailed instructions. In addition, Tiago provided a map of Porto with recommended restaurants, handwritten on to the map. Uses vans with 4 rows to accommodate 9 people. The CoolTour people use vans with 3 rows to accommodate 9 people.
Santiago de Compostela was absolutely beautiful! Our tour guide was wonderful, and the included lunch was good and plentiful. We stopped at the fort on the Portugal/ Spain border on the way back, and that was really interesting to see as well. I had a great day.
Miguel was a fountain of information. Great opportunity to get out and about when in Porto.
My friend and I took this tour yesterday. We were collected from our apartment in a sparklingly clean minibus and then collected others from their hotels. The guide, Tiago, was fantastic. He was unfailingly polite, helpful we are getting on a bit and not so agile getting in and out of transport, cheerful and amusing. His commentaries, in both Portuguese and English, were very informative and we learned a good deal...very useful for first-time visitors to Portugal. The party had a very good tapas lunch together following free time in Santiago de Compostela. We highly recommend this trip and especially Tiago Santos as guide.
If you take the tour from Porto you can enjoy the awesome countryside. Very informative. Santiago de Compostela was simply fantastic. The guide Mr. Pedro was superb and very friendly with awesome knowledge. My sincere suggestion to future clients if you are taking this tour from Porto please request Mr. Pedro as your tour guide.
Brilliant trip to Santiago despite the awful weather.our excellent guide Pedro was so knowledgeable and very witty would definitely recommend this trip.
It was an excellent day trip. Our guide, Jonatos, was very knowledgeable and entertaining . He was on time at the hotel for the pickup and the van was comfortable although no empty seat. It was a very full day. We were back at the hotel as scheduled on the itinerary.
Excellent tour, small group, Miguel guide was very kind and considerate.
It was an eye-opening and fantastic tour. Although the drive was quite long, it was not too tiring as our guide, Tiago, made the difference in terms of his knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of humor - keeping the group entertained and the trip enjoyable at the same time. :
Our anthropologist tour guide was quite pasisionate on tour guiding and he kmows about many other infk aside from subject.
administratively viator confirmed and did not even advise that there was none slated on that day.
Excellent guide translated in three languages. Wonderful day...most enjoyable.
I believe 12 hours is tough on the excellent guide...tis a long day
My wife, 4-year old daughter and I took this tour in October 2015. Our guide was excellent and took time to remember our names and also give us information about Portugal, the culture and the sites that we saw. We liked that we were given the entire time in Santiago by ourselves. This gave us the opportunity to see the sites at our own pace, to eat lunch at our choice of restaurant and to also spend time shopping.
Our guide was also very friendly and welcoming to our young daughter. The trip was enjoyable and informational. We would recommend this tour.
