Traveler Tips

It was not said that to get to the town it is a pretty significant walk that if you are not somewhat fit it’s not easy.
It is nearly 3 hours drive up and same back so you only get about 4.5-5 hours in town itself and about 1 hour of that is for the castle tour at the end of that period.
Yes, the trip to Cesky Krumlov is a bit long but well worth it!

beautiful Cesky Krumlov, worth booking this day trip from Prague...Sarah the tour guide explained the history of the place.
Nice day. Beautiful...
Robyn_S, Jul 2022
Nice day. Beautiful castle. Driver a little scary at times given his speed and close contact with other cars in front of us.
Cesky Krumlov is worth it!

Pesky Krumlov is a charming medieval village, set in the curve of the Vltava River (same one which flows through Prague), where water sports and old cafés share the same space. We had an excellent guide, and she offered us an indepth visit to this interesting and historical site. The only down-side was that we spent 6 hours travelling to get there and return to Prague (which we did know about in advance!).
Amazing Place!

A friend and I went from Prague to Cesky Krumlov on a day trip. Our guide Sarah, was knowledgeable, respectful and spoke over 4 languages!
Nice day in Bohemia away from Prague crowds

The old renaissance dwellings are amazingly beautiful. The entire village is awash in beauty and history. Our driver and our guide, Vera, were great. The bus was comfortable enough that most passengers fell asleep on the way back. Good trip!
No regard for Covid Risk - very dangerous trip
Anna_A, Oct 2021
We had a terrible experience because they packed 7 guests in a very small family van with two rear windows that only opened a small crack. The drive to Cesky Krumlov was 3 hours each way. In this time of Covid, that put us all at high risk. Oleg, our tour guide was good but he was not masked the entire trip. Our driver was not masked either. Cesky Krumlov was very beautiful but it’s unfortunate that our experience was marred by the risk we were all exposed to.

Truly not worth it!!
shmagm, Nov 2019
There is no way I can give this tour a good review even though I have enjoyed many good tours through Viator. The bus was not equipped for a trip this far out of Prague -- no bathroom facilities and only one break on the way out (3 hrs) and none on the way back. The tour guide rushed us through the tour and abandoned us at the first lunch stop only to reappear long enough to hand us over to the local guide at the castle (he was late) and then to rush us back to the bus with only 5 minutes to take photos. We could have accomplished this tour ourselves by taking a bus to Cesky Krumlow and buying a local guide ticket to the castle.

Not quite as expected
Michelle_T, Oct 2019
I want to say that this town is nothing more than a bunch of small souvenir shops and restaurants sprinkled with a few hotels and a church. The castle is ok nicer outside than inside. It was not said that to get to the town it is a pretty significant walk that if you are not somewhat fit it’s not easy. The majority of stores take cash only didn’t know that either. Not sure if it was worth a six hour round trip to see. It was ok not spectacular.

Long day but well worth the visit. Town square had a wonderful street festival. Restaurant guide recommended was too full so street fare excellent. Bust tourist town

Great town, but not much covered
Scenic370277, Sep 2019
This was a great little town and with the full day excursion in the discription, you would think that it will be covered a ton. Yet, the ride took over 2.5 hours in the small, outdated, squeaky mini van. We only had the guide with us for around 40 min in town itself, as he was walking along and pointing to the different buildings. Not that many details and interesting facts that you would think it will have. He dropped us off at the suggested restaurant (he said to us that it was very good and with the great prices), but do not fall for that trick. As I saw him walking away from the restaurant himself after we were sited, I thought that something was wrong. Very overpriced, nothing special. Find better place for your own taste. The castle tour was a joke: we saw a couple of rooms only with the two different eras. The castle tour guy had a very strong accent and it was hard to understand what he was trying to say. Overall, this town has great potential for the tourists to explore, but not with this company. Look if someone else is offering and try them instead.

Awesome trip out of town of Prague
ou81oreo, Sep 2019
A very beautiful town outside of Prague, the castle was beautiful too with lots of Renaissance painting and gigantic ballroom.
Great tour!

a step back in time ,well worth the drive from Prague,so much to see and do for a little town, the history of this place is amazing
Cesky Krumlov is great, but not this tour
Nina_T, Jul 2019
Cesky Krumlov is a great town, definitely worth visiting, but I would not recommend this tour. It takes 2.5-3 hours to get to Cesky Krumlov and unfortunatelly our bus was stinky. We have spent about 4 hours in Cesky Krumlov, which included 1 hour tour. We didn't enjoy the tour by George, he was walking very fast, so half of the group missed part of the explanations, but made sure everybody heard him promoting the restaurant and a jewelry shop. Anyway, free time was very nice, just not enough to enjoy the town as we had to find a place for lunch first. I guess that it's better to take a taxi there and back or stay overnight to really see Cesky Krumlov.
Did not meet our expectations
Raafat_B, Jul 2019
This tour did not meet our expectations at all: The description was not accurate, it did not mention the climb of high inclined which was not convenient for seniors and heart patients, this is totally irresponsible. The trip was for 3 hrs each way in a small very uncomfortable bus . The description should be re written with clear warnings
Great trip
SUSHIL_K, Jul 2019
The guide enriched the experience with interesting stories ; also , during the bus travel , shared a lot about the country history which made it a wonderful experience .
Great trip
Barry H, Jul 2019
We rrally enjoyed the trip. George was our guide formthe trip and because all passengers spoke English it made the conversatiohs much easier (George spoke 3 languages). The bus waw comfortable and had free Wifi onboard although it was a very hot day and the bus's A/C could have been a little better. We had adequate time around the town and the guided tour of the castle was wonderful. I'd recommemd the trip ro anyone.
Bus air-conditioning not working
Tony_O, Jun 2019
Our bus air-conditioning was not working with a temperature of 27 degree Celsius outside and we have to endure a total of 5hours on the bus in that hot and humid condition. The tour company should ensure the bus is in good condition before starting the tour. The guide was Asian unfriendly and not knowledgeable. Very disappointed.
Day trip
Graeme_C, Jun 2019
It was a wet cold rainy day, but even so Cesky Krumlov is an amazing place. The palace tour was not as wonderful as I thought it should be. The entrance and views are great as is the history.
