Loved the tour small group great guide Neil interesting and varied eating spots. Could have done with slightly less walking and political background. Do this tour and be sure to start hungry!
Lots of walking, but guide is knowledgable and food great. We learned a lot about Prague history and its special dishes.
This tour was so wonderful! We were a group of 8 all Americans and we had Neal as our our tour guide. Neal was great funny, personable, and so full of knowledge about Prague. This tour was a great blend of learning and eating! We made 6 stops and tried 7 different Czech specialties. Everything was so good! There were times when something was described to me that I didn't think I would like it. I was wrong...I loved everything. Don't make dinner plans after! You will be stuffed!
Fun tour. Lots of food varieties. Loved everything . Great tour guide. We met at the Gingerbread shop. I share photos all the time of this shop. My grand kids loved the gingerbread cookies we got. They wanted to see the photos.
The guide was personable and knowledgeable and had a super sense of humor. The route showed us parts of Prague we might not have seen. The food we sampled was sensational. Thank you.
You get plenty of food here, so come hungry! Request Neil and not only will you learn a ton about the history of Prague, but you'll laugh your butt off! Highly recommend. Best part of my Prague visit.
Great tour. Local guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. We started at a cookie shop, went to a renowned place for sausages and tea sandwiches. Next we had sauerkraut soup in a medieval tower. The for appetizers and wine at a furniture store/cafe. Last we went to a great restaurant for a main course and dessert. Well worth the price. Amount of walking was manageable, even for out of shape me.
Great guide Jan, highly recommend him. Very interesting places, wish we knew them earlier in our visit so we could have stopped in for luches or dinners.
Our host Jan, and Neil the trainee who accompanied him, did an excellent job. The commentary while walking from restaurant to restaurant was informative and enjoyable. The choice of food stops was perfect....great variety of delicious open faced sandwiches, meats, cheeses, drinks alcoholic and non, desserts, entrees. We were stuffed by the end and had learned so much more about Prague than we expected from this tour. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Prague.
Great tour! We saw a lot of the back street areas, learned a lot of local history and had some sumptuous food - but forget going for dinner later on, you will be stuffed with good things.
Jan provided an interesting mixture of food related information, history of food and Prague, and architecture. His choice of venues and food was imaginative and insightful. He presented well - mixing information and humour. You should do this tour immediately on arrival in Prague to influence where you would go for the entire visit.
Eva is an excellent guide. She took us to various places that serve up some wonderful local fares and specialities, including blackcurrant wine, apple strudel, and slow cooked lamb . Along the way, she showed us some beautiful sites in Prague. For example, the Powder Tower, Old Town, and the St. James Basilica. I definitely recommend this tour. Be sure to go hungry.
We got to sample some amazing food on this tour. Our tour guide was very bubbly and enthusiastic. Highly recommend this tour for foodies.
The best tour of my Prague trip. The food was so good. Many people think Prague is not a good city for foodies, I think they need to take this tour to understand the city and the culture, and they may easily fall in love with Czech food. The tour started from a gingerbread shop, from which we had our first sweets of the day. The gingerbread shop itself is a little cute shop with lots of fun, cute tiny gingerbread. Second and third stops were a sandwiches shop and a sausages shop. The sandwiches are very refreshing while the sausages are simply divine. We then carried to 2 hidden away treasures of the city to try some traditional dishes... I will let you discover on your own. The last stop was the famous café Louvre with the final main dish and the legendary strudel.
The tour was very well balanced with short walks, food stops, sights around the city. My guide of the day, Jan, was very knowledgeable, funny, patient. He didn't only state fact related to the tour but shared his personal life experience in the city. He showed us the little hidden treasures, the tuck-away shops around the cities and went on with lots of interesting information a traveller always want to know in a new city. Thanks, Jan! A must for foodies, history lovers, urban explorers and so on. Side note: The walks are broken down to short distances between stops so it's suitable for almost everyone. And the starting point is the cute gingerbread shop, in case you're as lost as I did.
Excellent start to our visit to Prague. Our meeting point was at the most amazing ginerbread shop, where we were lucky enough to sample some delicious products. We were given the opportunity to sample some of the local food, both sweet and savoury and returned independently to some of the venues. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and was happy to share some of the local history as we walked around both the new and old town of Prague. Really recommend this tour.
Amazing food, really friendly tour guides who knew a lot about the food culture in the Czech Republic, about Czech recipes and about the city of Prague in general. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
One of the best tours i've ever taken. Our tour guide Charlotte took us to some great little hideaways and had a chance to sample all types of foods, desserts and drinks. She provided some great city history along the way. If you're in Prague, you must take this tour. You will not be disappointed!
The tour was great although the food was average. This was not just about food but with some history of the country and visiting to some not so touristy places. The tour guide was very accomodating and tried to answer every question as much as possible.
