This was a private tour in which we were able to see the countryside, two lovely castles and a monastery. The castles were beautiful and the lunch was and excellent Czech meal. We learned a lot about history and it was fascinating to be in the castle of Franz Ferdinand, where he lived prior to his assassination. Our guide spoke minimal English and drove very quickly, which was a little bit frightening. There were several tours available at Konopiste. We were only able to go on the first tour, and would have liked to have seen more of the castle. The gardens were stunning. At the monastery, the first portion of the tour was self-guided and there was little explanation concerning the displays. The second half of the monastery tour was guided, but the guide spoke very little English. It is important to note that there is a lot of hill climbing and uneven surfaces, so this tour is not for people who are out of shape or who have mobility issues.
