5 star rating: Highly Recommended July 2018

I took my sister on a trip to Prague and, knowing the language barrier would be challenging, arranged a one-day tour outside the city to see some of the countryside. It was one of the highlights of our trip. First, our tour guide was simply delightful. She gave interesting background and perspective; answered countless questions on everything from language to culture to history to customs and more; and translated additional insight provided by our driver who did not speak as much English. Second, being able to view some of the beautiful Czech countryside was a real treat and not something we would have otherwise had the opportunity to do. Third, the mix of the three sites was perfect as they were each very different and, taken with knowledge gathered in Prague, provided a fuller perspective and 'flavor' in understanding the independence, creativity, intelligence, and pride of the Czech Republic and its people. Finally, to summarize, the tour was an overall joy and worth every penny. I will definitely keep Viator in mind when booking private tours as I travel.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this July 2018

We were on this tour on Jul 11, 2018. The driver stunk of body odour as did his minivan. He spoke little English. The 2 young ladies who were our guides through the Chateau and Castle respectively did a marvellous job. The stop at Novy Knin was a waste of time. There was no English explanation of any of the exhibits and the lunch was less than good. The cost for a 2 person private tour warrants a lot more for the money!
