Fantastic tour well worth the trip very interesting
There is so much to love about the Jewish Quarter in Prague. The culture and contributions of Jews over the course of 16 centuries is phenomenal, the Czech Republic has attempted to capture this in the synagogues and museums. It is so sad to realize there are fewer than 5,000 Jews in all of the Czech Republic, and only 1600 in Prague now. I was a bit troubled by the terminology used: sending Jews to the extermination camps during World War 2 is euphemistically referred to as deportation. The war was with the Nazis, not with Germany.
The tour itself had potential, as we visited several beautiful synagogues, museums, and The Old Jewish Cemetery. Unfortunately, our guide, Martin, tried to cram too much into the time allotted, spoke too rapidly, and did not base much of the information he provided on facts.
