What You Can Expect

Private Walking Tour: Hidden Prague

Discover secrets passages and walkways during your Hidden Prague Walking Tour

Choose a morning or afternoon start time when you book. Then, begin your private 2.5-hour walking tour with a pickup from your central Prague hotel.

Venture away from the main tourist trail to discover the city’s hidden side of labyrinthine passageways, tucked-away gardens and buzzing local districts that many visitors fail to discover.

On route, your guide will share insider facts and stories about everyday life in the city, together with revealing historical insights. Hear how, having been built before the advent of urban planning, Prague grew into webs of cobbled lanes that radiated out from churches and other monuments.

It was only later that city planners added impressive squares and architectural showpieces, leaving lots of little nooks and crannies around Prague Old Town that cry out to be explored.

Follow the passageways that surround the Old Town Square and snake their way to Wenceslas Square and Republic Square. Pass timeworn houses and quiet courtyards, and as you walk, learn the stories of the passing sights, and how these medieval routes are usually only used by locals and never appear on tourist maps.

Make regular stops for photos and feel free to ask your guide to see more or less of any sights along the way. Your tour is private, so the itinerary can be tailored around you.

After roughly 2.5 hours, your tour concludes near Old Town Square.

Prague is such an amazing and beatiful town and the guide was so intersting too. I and my two kids were alone with her and had the oppotunity to ask all we wanted to know. We loved it. We wish to come back soon.

John was our tour guide apologies to John, we've forgotten the Czech pronunciation of your name and we cannot recommend him enough to anyone considering the tour. He was young, intelligent, well read, he knew his way around, was extremely pleasant, has a good understanding of world events, and he went out of his way to try to personalise the experience for each of us on the tour. I just wanted to throw my arms around him in gratitude at the end of the tour as I enjoyed it so much, and learned so much. John explained some of the history of Prague and the Czech Republic in a way that we could understand, and in a way that was unexpected from one so young, and we are richer for the experience. Do yourself a favour and go on this tour!

Despite bitterly freezing weather, this tour was great. The guide was young passionate and articulate and visibly engaged with us. Saw some things we would have missed completely. Thoroughly recommended.

Very enjoyable snapshot of the Prague you wouldn't normally see as a tourist. Andrew was personable and knowledgeable, and filled in some of the historical and social background of the city and the Czech people.

John provided us with an elightening tour of the city of Prague. There was a good mix of culture, cuisine, architecture and history of the place. We were brought to lesser known tourist sites - areas that we probably would not have known or visited. I would recommend this tour be taken on day 1 of visit to Prague.

WOW! What a wonderful tour this is. We were taken to some out of the way places that larger tour groups would not be able to see. Our guide was excellent and provided lots of interesting information about Prague and it's history. We all had a wonderful time and highly recommend this tour.

This is an excellent way to get to know Prague the way the locals do. Look for HONZA aka John for your tour guide and I guarantee you will get more than you paid for: The HIDDEN PRAGUE tour is historical meets modern Prague. We hardly noticed the 2.5 hours pass due to the animated conversations we were having with Honza:
Absolute Walking Tours is probably the best in the area. I will definitely be recommending this to friends and will most likely book them again in my future trips:
