This day trip is a fine way to see another off-the-beaten path part of the Czech Republic that most tourists don't normally get the chance to experience.
this trip was amazing! the young lady sorry, i forgot her name was great.
I was lucky, i saw very different views there. it was low season, only me in the group, this tour did not cancel it, really thank them for that!
on Czech side, there was no other visitor at all only me and guide. it was just after snow fall, the trees covered by snow, the stones was very interesting! also on Germany side, the views are breathe taking.....
you should NOT miss this tour company, you can trust them!
This tour was absolutely brilliant - Pavla is an absolute star. She made our hike in heavy snow and winds such a memorable one! From the physical support during hike to the lunch at the nested little cottage restaurant, to hot tea and snacks with warm socks in the car - we loved all of it!
It was an extremely amazing and breathtaking tour. Everything was great and we had so much fun though there are some sort of changes in the itinerary due to constructions in the park, still they have made it a memorable one and beyond our expectations. We had our first destination in Schrammsteine then followed by Bastei Rock in the National Park. Our tour guide ,Tony, was a really nice guy. He seemed to be a friend we are travelling with than a plain tour guide while he was giving us knowledge about the place. We really appreciate his efforts in picking us up in our hotel though a bit far from the center, packed some breakfast for us and make sure that we are always comfortable along the way, and oh especially when taking pictures for us/with us :D Super thanks for this wonderful experience! :
Our guide, Tony, was prompt on pick, packed a delicious breakfast for us and was quite knowledgeable regarding areas visited.
Despite the rain, the hike through the forest was enjoyable - great to get away from all the tourists in the city. Great scenery and our guide, Marik, was friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was very good with several choices. The 13km hike wasn and #39;t very strenuous for a couple of 60 yr olds.
This was very different than what I was anticipating but I loved it none the less! First of all it is not an historical tour per se. Mark translated name will be more than willing to answer questions you might have but its more of an outdoorsy adventure like tour which was a surprisingly welcomed change. The drive was peaceful and comfortable Mark provided us with snacks at the start of our trip which I thought was nice touch. It is a ways away from he city but the end result is totally worth it. You will get to see both the Switzerland National Park on the Czech side Bohemian and the German side Saxson. Lunch was fantabulous I know not a word but it was amazing. It was a very chilly day and the restaurant was nice and toasty and everything was delicious. Basted was the most beautiful place. I got some of the most breathtaking views of my trip at this location. IT is absolutely a must see. Moreover there is history embedded in such an amazing view which was an added treat.
Before I end this review I want to note that Northern Hikes customer service is one to be rivaled! They were very communicative form begging to end. My hotel was outside of their pick-up zone but they reimbursed me for the cost of the cab ride. Also even though they did not pick me up because I was outside of the zone they did provide a ride back to my hotel which was great since they trip is a full day and you are getting back pretty late int he day. It was my most expensive tour during my trip but I have not regrets. You absolutely get what you paid for which is a great tour and excellent customer service!!!
AMAZING. This is one of my most treasured memories from our vacation. Marek was our guide and was wonderful. It was beautiful and exhilarating and everything I hoped it would be. We did the longer excursion and though we're no athletes by any stretch of the imagination we did just fine. It was just under 10 miles but it's at a leisurely pace. We would do this again in a heartbeat.
The tour guides and the tour itself more than met our expectations. We enjoyed the day, the commeraderie they engendered, and the meal toward the end of the trip. We recommend this tour without hesitation.
Rainy day but still worth it. The rain and clouds made it so we didn't get the 'picture perfect' spot at the top, but it was still definitely worth it. The entire clouds / mist gave the forest and the surroundings an amazing, almost magical feeling. Definitely recommend if you don't mind a bit of a drive from Prague.
