Traveler Tips

Bring a snack or lite lunch as the small shop at Terezin has only limited items like hot dogs, fries and ice cream.
Don't forget to take a drink and a snack as there is nothing available on the day.
Also note, that lunch is not included and to give you more time at the museum, it is best to pack a lunch than to rely on the limited lunch options at the museum.

Journey into history
Dima_s, Aug 2022
Our tour guide Helene made the experience. The exhibitions were well presented and we got a great historical orientation on Czech history, WWII and the Holocaust
Worst tour guide ever, at what should have been a deeply moving experience
Dylan_N, Jul 2022
While visiting a place with such tragic and important history was deeply moving, we had the worst tour guide I’ve ever experienced on our trip. Our guide spoke incredibly quietly, with little enthusiasm and failed to give much more than recounted Wikipedia paragraphs. She also failed to give us much time to look around and seemed bothered when asked questions. We all left very disappointed and robbed of what should have been a much more carefully presented and profound experience. The museums and info/plaques around Terezin saved this from being a total waste of money. I would strongly recommend visiting Terezin, but would think twice about booking through Viator, if this is the level of quality control they display when filtering their tour guides.
Good tour, would recommend
Kelli_M, Aug 2022
Tour was as described - pick up and drop of were exactly on time. Bus was very comfortable - good AC, comfortable seats. The site itself was moving and very educational. A difficult place to visit but important to remember. The tour makes it easy to visit multiple areas, and our guide was very knowledgeable. Note that some parts are not accessible on Saturdays.
This tour is a little too...
DAEMON_O, Aug 2022
This tour is a little too long. The coach is too small for the amount of people on the tour. It is a good tour but it’s a long day and was a cramped coach.
Sobering but Insightful Tour
Lynette_H, Aug 2022
The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared a lot of information on Terezin and other Czech history. The concentration camp was very sobering and ending at the ghetto museum was perfect
Special, overwhelming, with a lot of interesting details and background. Putting things in the proper perspective.
bas_k, May 2022
It was a very special trip, with a very high quality guide, that was really knowledgeable and she (Sarah) was really open for questions. It was all clearly explained and a good balance between content and duration.
Fantastic guide
Matthew_R, Jul 2022
Fantastic tour, well worth the money. The guide Helen was fantastic and spent the entire trip to and from the camp commentating, which was fantastic. Her knowledge of Prague, Czech Republic and even other parts of the world was just amazing! She is very knowledgeable and really provided some fantastic insight! You visit both the small and the large fortress. With the small fortress you actually get handed over to a guide from that facility, and she spends about an hour guiding you through it. At the large fortress, it’s the tour guide from the bus, although it’s somewhat self guided. It was a really good experience (if you can say that). Compared to other camps, a lot of the original facilities have been retained.
Excellent well worth the money
Eilish_K, Jul 2022
Excellent tour, very good value. The tour guide was amazing so informative. The tour guide in Terevin was also amazing. A very good trip.
Informative trip
emmapnql22, May 2022
Overall, it was a very informative trip. The guide in the camp was passionate about history so it was interesting to hear him talk about it. The coach was comfortable so overall it was a nice trip.
Tough but worth it.
Jennifer_s, Sep 2022
Tour is divided into multiple sections. We got to see a lot more than expected with museum visits etc to. Our tour guide Helen was fab! So knowledgeable and took the time to speak to you individually. Her English is very good, and likes to make sure you understand her. Tour itself is tough going due to the history- but definitely worth it.
Memorable

This outing is a must see so the generations ahead can have a basic understanding of what went on during this time..

Sad, interesting, sobering
Morgan_D, Jun 2022
The small fortress is the best part of this tour. You get history about WWII but also history dating back much further. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable.

Good experience
Helle_H, Jul 2022
The prison was an interesting experience and we had a very good guide who could tell us about the terrible things that had happened there.
Bear witness to WWII concentration camps
Robert_W, Jul 2022
Our tour guide, Petr, was very knowledgeable, personable, and enthusiastic about history and it’s relationships with culture and norms of the time. Terezin is a sad story about human cruelty, everyone possible should witness its expression so that we can all hope it won’t happen again
Talking to our coach...
Timothy_B, May 2022
Talking to our coach guide as we walked, an opportunity for questions. She was knowledgeable, informative, but made no effort to interact. OK, probably the right approach for guides.
Important learning experience
Barbara_G, Jun 2022
Visiting Terezin was a very emotional experience. I have known about Terezin since I was a child. Seeing how people were treated was different than hearing stories and reading books. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning about the worst treatment possible and then actively working to make sure it never happens again to anyone.
Totally inadequate
margery_b, Sep 2022
I recommend going to Terezin, but our tour guide wasn't good. We were rushed through the camp, without time to absorb the experience. We felt that bothbtge guide on the bus and the guide at the camp didn't care about the people on the trip. It felt like the fast food version.
Really good experience
Heidi_S, Sep 2022
Really informative tour, all the guides were knowledgeable and passionate. The camp it’s self is well kept and authentic to give a better perspective of what happened there. I do feel there may have been too much squeezed into the afternoon. While the museum in the ghetto is good it felt too rushed. You will need to eat before or bring something for the bus ride as there is no stopping time.
Family four
Sofie_E, May 2022
A mini bus picked us up. It was nice to be a small group. The guide was very nice and informative. Theresienstadt was very touching. We had a four year old with us and it worked just fine. I could recommend this trip. We wish the bus would have AC - it was warm. Bring water!

Emotionally hard but essential tour
Margaret_T, May 2022
This day was well worth my time. The tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Terezin. This part of our world history is necessary for everyone to know and understand. It's a hard emotionally taxing day, but in these hard polarizing times it is so important that we remember our darkest side and never ever repeat it.
