What You Can Expect

Iguazu Forest Eco-Adventure: Trekking, Ziplining and Rappelling

Trek along narrow trails and admire the ecosystem!

After pickup at your local Puerto Iguazú hotel, meet your guide and travel the 4 miles (7 km) to the dense, verdant Selva Misionera. Covering 37,066 acres (15,000 hectares,) this vast rainforest is home to over 2,000 plant species and 400 different types of birds. Visit the Trail of Giant trees, a trek that boasts some of the tallest trees in the forest, and where you may view hummingbirds, standing toucans, trogons or woodpeckers.

Complete your forest hike at the start of your zipline adventure. Glide through the jungle canopy 65 feet (20 meters) above the forest in a safety harness. After landing safely back on your feet, rappel down a cliff accompanied by a view of the nearby waterfalls. Learn how to do both of these activities safely from experienced, highly-qualified guides who are there every step of the way.

After sweating your way through those thrilling adventures, jump in for a swim in a natural freshwater pool. Then relax on the drive through the forest and back to Puerto Iguazú for drop-off at your hotel.

This was a great way to spend the day! Iguazu falls CANNOT be missed, but if you have another day in Puerto Iguazu, this is a fun way to spend that day! They picked us up at our hotel in a fun, open air, van. Due to the time of year, we were not able to repel beside the water fall, but we still had a great time. Most of us had never repelled before, but the guides were very experienced and very supportive. We all did it in the end! The zip line was THE BEST. We were with my 85 year old mother and she wanted to try it. The repelling was a little too much for her, but she wanted to try the zip lining. One of the guides was so sweet to stay with her while the rest of us repelled. The guides could not have been more supportive with the zip lining. They were very safe and very experienced. They gave my mother the best day! We felt very safe. The zip line through the trees was so much fun! Not much to the walk in the jungle part of the tour, just kind of getting from one area to the next, but the repelling and zip line are really great.

Lots of activities. Just what I was looking for. Especially the repelling. Was there in August and the weather was perfect.

Ziplining through the jungle and repelling next to a waterfall was amazing. Our guide was very outgoing and full of facts about the agriculture, people, and wildlife in Puerto Iguazu. Great sightseeing of the jungle and surrounding villages on the way to the ziplining and repelling site.

Overall, really good fun - the zip lining was great, so was the rappelling down the waterfall. I would say though that the 'trekking isn't so much a trek but a short walk, so maybe that's been overstated a little bit. All else was great - nice guides and a great experience. Thanks again.
