Entire hike and water immersion were great. Guide were very safety conscious and attentive. Group we were with was small enough 16 to make it enjoyable. Some of the other groups were HUGE 50! This tour group is best if you go.
We've done this twice and loved it both times! Be aware, there is some hiking involved. The guides are awesome and the waterfalls are amazing! Afterwards, you sit and eat a meal with everyone, it's a great day!
This tour was absolutely amazing. The ride from the hotel to the falls was very scenic and the tour guide was very informative. The falls themselves were absolutely stunning. There is a long walk before you get to the falls, so make sure you understand that you will be active. Some people were complaining about the walk but if you are in moderate shape, it shouldn't be a problem. Lunch was also very delicious.
We only did the 12 falls but it was a blast!! They had a photographer come with us so we didnt even need to bring our own camera, he got pictures of us on every fall and throughout the tour. It did cost 35 USD to buy a usb with the pictures and videos afterwards but it was worth it because he got pictures and videos of the ENTIRE TRIP. I'd definitely recommend this!! Yunior and Ari were our guides and they made every part enjoyable.
What a great experience! The tour guides were funny, professional, informative, and very helpful. The pick up from the hotel was very easy and everything was planned out well. If you want to do something while in the Dominican I highly suggest doing the waterfall excursion, what a beautiful eye-opening experience!

It is a great to spend a day for the people who like extreme sports, exciting adventure with nature, I highly recommended.
We enjoyed the Damajagua Waterfalls very much. I do suggest some kind of water shoes. You are walking through water alot. Lunch was good and our hosts were very entertaining.
Absolutely AMAZING. Every aspect of it. Worth every penny. Augusto our tour guide was THE MAN!!
A really wonderful trip full of scenic sights and adventure! Plus great tour guides! Highly recommend Go-Pro or waterproof camera, too good not to capture.
Our guide was amazing - friendly and very informative. The waterfalls are great - the first one was super high up but still safe to jump.
I thought that I was in better shape than I truly am and it showed when I had to climb 45 minutes to get to the 12th waterfall. Our guides Julito and Cecilio were wonderful. They pushed and pulled to help me up that mountain and were great about it. Once at the top it was all fun and games down through the falls. I loved every minute of it and the climb was well worth the effort. Note: most tour companies don't do all 27 falls and make sure you bring water shoes that grip well and have good support since you will be walking a lot and much of it over rocks.
Nice day in the mountains. Do not wear sandals, rent the shoes, well worth it. If you wear sneakers, they will get soaked the first 10 minutes of the hike you will ford a shallow river, rent the shoes. The hike up the mountain is a little more difficult than the brochure states. You need to be in moderate/decent shape for the hike up. Jumping and sliding down the falls was a blast. The crew was excellent, hats off to them for assisting up and down the mountain. Their will be no doubt you went on an adventure. We stopped at a outpost that made sandstone figurines, and had a cocoa and coffee demonstration, very interesting. The cocoa sample was delicious. And then to a cigar making business. Interesting demonstration, very cool. The meal at the end of the excursion was good, and the bottle of rum in the middle of the table was better than Motrin.
Great day out! Make sure you are prepared.... some people arrived for the trip in jeans and smart shirts. You need practical shoes, waterproof and active clothes.
The description does not tell you as part of the day you jump a narrow 32ft drop into water, there is the option to walk down a lot of steps as well but be prepared to be taken out of your comfort zone.
Take a bottle of water, its a steep hot walk up to the first water fall.
This is a once in a lifetime trip. The Tour Guide was awesome and highly informed. The walk to the falls is not an easy one. If you are not in decent shape and accustomed to uphill hiking this might not be the tour for you
A little disappointed that we could not do the 27 waterfalls tour that we paid for and only did the 12 but it was GREAT. The instructors were knowledgeable and really helpful to other people on the tour who were having trouble with the walking. I would do it again and again.
This excursion itself was very fun and beautiful! However don't be fooled, you don't do all 27 warerfalls you do just half of that. Also, the tour guides I had were a bit rude and always trying to rush us down the waterfalls. But over all awesome!!!
Great if you want to jump and slide. Would have been better if you had two tour guides so if you want to go to the top you can. Not good if you don and #39;t want to jump or slide. Led to small area to swim instead. Bonus, you get to see townships along the way.
There had not been a lot of rain in Puerto Plata prior to my trip. As a result, we were unable to do all 27 waterfalls as the water was too shallow to jump. Instead we did some other neat things, like have coffee where it is made, sample cigars and mamajuana local drink, and go to a stone sculpture factory.
Further, you are not allowed to bring a camera or phone into the falls unless it is waterproof. They made a video and took pictures which were available for purchase for 30 and they would drop it off the following day. We really didn't have any interest in the video, but wanted the pics. You had to buy both, and when we got home we realized that there were no pictures on either disc. One was just an audio soundtrack and the other was just the video. : So we have zero pics of the falls.
I would recommend going bc it is gorgeous, the guides were very nice, and we had a great time. The tour just wasn't what we thought it would be, and we wound up not getting the pics we tried to purchase. We also had a hard time setting a pick up spot because we did not stay in a hotel and the tour company was very difficult to get a hold of to pick a hotel we weren't staying at...
Tour was fun. But don't buy the video or pictures. We paid 30 bucks for them to give us a blank cd with nothing on it. We have no pictures or memories from the waterfall. They knew we were leaving the day after. They robbed us blind.
