Enrique and his wife were wonderful. Such great, friendly people who are truly enjoying what they do. Enrique took us to the market to purchase our supplies for the shrimp ceviche, octopus salad and mahi mahi Veracruz we prepared. We learned much about Mexican cooking and culture along the way too! Definitely a highlight of our week in Puerto Vallarta. Would highly recommend!!
This was such a fun trip, the chef and his wife were so kind, and professional. Food was by far the best thing I ate the entire trip. Thank you again for an amazing time- 5 stars all the way
Enjoyed this market tour/cooking class very much. Enrique was fantastic. Learned so much about Mexican cuisine. Perfect day!!
Just returned from a week long trip to Puerto Vallarta, my daughter and I took this class and it was the highlight of our trip! Enrique took us to the markets to gather our ingredients and spent time explaining them to us, then we went back to his home to cook the meal with his wife and Nancy their assistant. Enrique, Maria, and Nancy were so warm and welcoming and it was a very charming touch to do this in their home. The class size with small 6 persons and allowed for a lot of hands on experience. I am a seasoned cook, but learned so many new techniques. We made tortilla soup, mole, dessert tamales, and homemade tortilla's along with guacamole and salsa. Everything was excellent and Enrique gave us recipe books with everything we made and lots more. If I find myself in Puerto Vallarta again I will certainly book this class again.
We had an AMAZING time! We will definitely be recommending Enrique to our friends and family!
Enrique and Maria are awesome! so welcoming. We loved every minute of this cooking class and know we will be making the mole for our friends and family soon.
Another fantastic tour. Henrique, our guide and chef, along with his wife and sister-in-law, made us feel very much at home. We had a great time shopping and making tamales. We would definitely do this again, selecting a different menu item to learn how to make.
Enrique and Eri are consummate hosts and I learned so much from the experience. So many chiles to choose from! Grapefruit seed solution disinfectant for the fish! Would do it again next time in PV, for sure.
Enrique taught us a ton about shopping and cooking chile rellanos, salsa, guacamole, and tortillas. He, his wife, and his sister-in-law made us feel like we were part of their family. We can't wait to go back to Puerto Vallarta and learn to cook more authentic food with them again!
If you want to restore your faith in humanity, you must do this. There were 7 random strangers in our group and we had Enrique as our chef. We started out at the market and learned about different things, spoke with locals. It was very hot, so dress accordingly. Then we made our way to his home and met his beautiful wife, sister in law and his niece. We had a great time, everyone participated in helping. At the end we all sat as family and ate. It was a wonderful time and felt like we walked away as friends.
Outstanding activity and great value. Enrique knows the local food and it's history very well. The market shopping for veggies and meat for the chicken mole was a lot of fun. Enrique welcomed us into his inviting and quite functional home in a quiet neighborhood of PV. We met and cooked alongside his lovely family. The cooking instruction was very educational and the food absolutely delicious. This 5 hour activity is great value and a must-do when in PV.
Wonderful experience! Though always hesitant about these sorts of activities given the touristy nature of the town, I took a chance anyways. My friend and I bought the tickets and were quickly confirmed by Enrique who gave clear directions on where to meet. Once there, Enrique was punctual to greet all of us. From the market experience and learning more about local ingredients as they relate to Mexican cuisine and beyond, to the actual cooking class itself, this was a great experience. The intimate setting allowed for a nice meal with strangers. And the food itself was delicious. The service was fantastic and I highly recommend this experience for those who want to get off the beaten path of highly visible touristy stuff.
Rosie is a fantastic cook and instructor and a delightful hostess. Her garden provided a beautiful setting for enjoying the food that we prepared. Loved it!
Wonderful and informative! Really enjoyed the market tour and the hands on cooking class. Enrique and his family are gracious hosts and very helpful. Kitchen was very clean and tour a good value.
Can't wait to make carnitas at home.
What a great experience! Such a friendly host and a great tour of the market. We all had a wonderful time cooking with his family and made my friend's birthday even better with a homemade dessert and everyone singing happy birthday to him. They really made us feel comfortable in their home. I would definitely love to re-live this experience again. Thank you so much!
Cooking class was wonderful. Visiting the local market was very interesting and using fresh produce great. Our Chef, Rosie, was a great instructor and cooking in her home kitchen was the best. Our meal was delicious and cooking with other members of our class was such fun. Would schedule this activity again in a heartbeat if I travel back here.
Awesome way to spend part of your day. You learn something, meet some great people and eat some really great food
Chef and family were wonderful. The food was fresh and extremely tasty. The tour of the market was most interesting and I would recommend this tour even if you are not a cook. Bravo!!!
Rosie is a wonderful chef, teacher and host. Her garden is spectacular. She constantly feed us information about cooking and Mexico. Our meal was fantastic and abundant!
We had a great time and learned a lot. From going to the market to the different vendors to learn about their goods to their home to help make and then eat what we made WHICH WAS GREAT.
We HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this excursion. Enricie sorry about the spelling, his wife and sister-in-law all make you feel like part of the family and this was a high time of our entire vacation.
Side note-when your are done and if you like dogs ask to go to the back yard-three really great and friendly dogs.
My friends and I had a wonderful day cooking with Enrique and his wife. We started with a trip to a local market and enjoyed the shops and colorful persons we met. The food we prepared was delicious and the chance to meet this lovely family was a treat.
This cooking class was a great experience. We enjoyed shopping in the local marketplace and Enrique taught us how to purchase the foods there. The cooking experience with his family was wonderful. I am now an expert at making fresh tortillas! We learned how to make tamales and salsas and enjoyed the meal when it was complete. I highly recommend this tour.
This class was great. We will definitely be taking a class with Chef, once more, when we return to Puerto Vallarta. Highly Recommended CJ in Chicago.
What a great excursion. We met Enrique, our chef and had a relaxed and informative shopping experience Puerto Vallarta style. Then off we went to his home to be welcomed by his wife and introduced to the culture and cooking of Mexico. I highly recommend this tour. It was a wonderful day and a great learning experience. Couldn't have been better.
I loved, loved, loved this cooking class. I learned so much about the culture, and the preparation of the foods and the ingredients needed. I would take another class the next time I return to this area. It is a completely interactive class which makes it so much fun. I have already tried several of the recipes since returning home. It is definitely a must to complete your vacation experience.
