Two weeks ago, my daughter and I spent two days cooking with Enrique, Tony, Ery, and their warm and knowledgeable staff in Puerto Vallarta. We spent some time each day going to the market to get ingredients for the day's meal, listening to Enrique's interesting stories about Mexican food, the markets, and the fish and meats, vegetables, tortilla dough, and Mexican cooking in general, and then helping to prepare and cook what we got at the markets. We enjoyed every minute of both days and really appreciated the warm hospitality and welcome all of us received.
This was a wonderful experience!!! Enrique was AMAZING!! He took us to the market and showed us around. He provided helpful information regarding the food, but also added in historical information and tidbits. He then took us back to his BEAUTIFUL home to do the cooking class. He got everyone involved in the preparation and the food was delicious!!! I am looking forward to taking another class next time we are in Puerto Vallarta!!!
Enjoyed this activity a lot. Trip to a real MX market and then to cheifs home to cook. Very informative on different herbs etc they use in cooking. Small group so everyone participated.
It was great!!! This is the second class we have taken with Enrique, and plan to go back next year.
It was more than than i expected. Not only making delicious food, but lessons about Mexican food history and local ingredients and how to use them. Tour in the market was very good. Now I have good knowledge to start my own Mexican kitchen. Mr. Enrique and his staff are really top and enjoyable. Absolutely five stars.
This is a Must do on your list when visiting Puerto Vallarta. Actually, when we next visit Cabo or Play del Carmen their other locations, we will make sure we schedule a cooling class in. Our family, daughters included, really enjoyed learning about the food that represents the Mexican Culture. Enrique and Eri, along with Tony and the ladies, made the actual cooking of the meal a fun experience.
I highly encourage all Foodies to plan on attending a class, you won't regret it!
After a somewhat slow start at a local market, we went to Enrique's home and had a fabulous experience making several dishes that were just delicious. Enrique and his staff are really top notch. Highly recommended.
The best! Wonderful tour and fun cooking class. I left my souvenir apron that was given to me at the Chefs house. Who would believe the Chef delivered it to my hotel the next day! How great is that!!

A visit to an authentic local grocery, fish market and tortilla factory was followed by a masterful lesson in Mexican cuisine.
Chef Enrique was right on time to meet our group of nine and toured the local mercado for a lesson in Mexican history and the origin and use of traditional ingredients.
Enrique's kitchen was very clean and well-staffed. Knives and dishes, pans and equipment were top notch and new. Enrique followed good food-handling protocol and insisted the guests washed their hands before beginning the class. Enrique was spotless in his white uniform smock.
There was continuous guest participation in the food, sauce and tortilla preparations with ongoing teaching and dialogue. An unexpected tequila and mescal tasting with a history lesson of both was a fun treat!
The outcome of our day was a filling and nutritious meal and a fun, interesting and well-executed experience with a great chef and his staff.

Amazing...do not miss this opportunity! Educational, delicious cuisine, experienced chefs, and all hosted in a perfect environment. 1st class experience.
Enough swimming with dolphins and zip lining, get to this class for fun and a genuine cultural experience! We received a warm greeting from Enrique at our meeting point, met the other members of the group and quickly set off for the market. We were given some insight into the market and he pointed out many interesting and useful things while visiting. I am now confident about my fish buying and much more familiar with cheeses made in Mexico, as well as the process for making tortillas. The produce market was unbelievable with all the very freshest veggies you will ever see. None of those watermelon tomatoes we have and also learned how to spot the ready to eat avocados. When we arrived at the house to prepare the meal, Maria, Enrique's wife, came out to the van to welcome us into her home and meet the assistant, Anna. We each took part in preparing the meal, enjoying an opportunity to taste various tequila and mescal. The lessons were fully explained and demonstrated using all the ingredients we had purchased during our market adventure. The flavors were amazing. I realized we were using ingredients I use everyday, but were prepared in different combinations. There was no ingredient used that was out of the ordinary, it was the amazing skill of Enrique's creative cooking that made it all so wonderful. Would do this again without hesitation!!!!
This was a really wonderful experience. The trip to the market and shopping for the ingredients for the meal we were to prepare was informative, fun and relaxing. The host and his staff beautifully balance hospitality, teaching and eating. I very much enjoyed the ambiance, what I was able to learn and the wonderful food.
The chef is a local who takes you to a market to purchase the food you will learn how to prepare in his kitchen. He, along with his wife and sister offer you a truly authentic Mexican cooking experience in their clean, inviting little home. Three of us went and still talk about it! Fantastic day!
We met Enrique and Joanna at the mall and they took us to the Mexican market. Upon arrival there, we had a breakfast taco yum then went to the backdoor of the market. Joanna explained about several kinds of chilis, fruits and vegetables that are used in their cooking and bought some of the needed items for the meal we would later cook. Then she took us to the tortilla factory where we watched the process. After that,we went into the area where they sell fish, meat and poultry. It was a very festive atmosphere and they served food in there as well so lots to see and smell. After purchasing all the items needed, we loaded up in a van and went to Enriques house. We were served hibiscus tea made by his wife Ari then went to work preparing a meal of Tacos al Pastor, Carnitas, a few different salsas, a couple guacamoles ....Everyone in our group was put to work preparing something. We also had a tequila/mescal tasting and a little background of the differences. There was a lot of regional explanations about the different styles/ingredients used in Mexico and South America. Afterwords, we were given a cookbook with our recipes and more. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in cooking or mexican culture through food.
Very fun day, exploring the market and learning about ingredients and then to Enrique's house where we were welcomed like family! We enjoyed the time cooking and learning and eating! Delicious and a wonderful day!
We met our Chef and guide at our designated spot, went to the outdoor market and the tortilla factory to gather what we needed for the class. He was so informative about the food, history and culture before the class even started, and I would not hesitate to have the experience again. It was hands on cooking and a great day.

Enrique provided lots of insights into Mexican life, as well as food and cooking. His home was a spacious place to interact with the other participants while preparing and enjoying the food we prepared...tamales, mole poblano, various salsas and tortillas. Will do this again on our next trip to Puerto Vallarta !
This class was outstanding! Definitely one of the best things we did while in Puerto Vallarta.
I loved all of the history and local lore we learned while shopping for ingredients at the market. Their home was warm and inviting, and the class was fun for all ages and skill levels. We would do it again,
I was already considering a return trip to Puerta Vallarta but taking this class sealed the deal. It was the highlight of our week-long stay. Enrique and team took us on an educational tour through the fish and vegetable markets then back to their lovely home to start cooking. Our class was focused on cervice but we also learned to make octopus, guacamole, tortilla, spiced pumpkin and shrimp soup. Accompanied by a tequila tasting ... it was a culinary journey not soon to be forgotten. Several guests were back for the 2nd or more times. I plan to copy them and become a repeat student next time I visit this wonderful city.
An excellent addition to our trip! Enjoyed visiting the market where the locals shop, viewing all the fresh ingredients they use for their cooking and learning about different peppers and why the chicken is yellow! At the house, we prepared guacamole, salsas, and tacos al pastor - delicious!! Great cultural experience for everyone - from my 11 year old daughter to my 70-something Mom!
Marvelous time and oh! so many fabulous eats!! Our guide Danielle was superb and gave us such an appreciation for the people and culture of Mexico. Loved it!!
Enrique and his staff did a great job from the market for shopping and lots of information to the actual cooking, grilling and eating experience it was terrific. I would do a class again with him in a heartbeat. One of the highlights of my month in Puerto Vallarta
Our group thoroughly enjoyed the day with Henriques and his family. The cooking class made Mole seem almost easy to do at home. The end result was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the lesson on Tamales and how to prepare the Banana leaves. Making our own tortillas with the tortilla press was so much fun. Of course, the tequila tasting helped with the ambiance. Great experience in a lovely Mexican kitchen.
