The crew went out of their way to find whales and we saw 4 pods. Service was excellent and friendly had a great time, remember to take a sweater, we did and glad we did.
    A Dream Come True!

Absolutely AMAZING! The captain got us so close that we could see the whales mouth up close. There were 7 whales with babies and we saw them breaching, flipping their tales and flippers! It was out of this world. The price is extremely reasonable! I don't know how to swim and I felt safe the entire time.

    Boat, people and whales...
    Dean_S, Mar 2022
Boat, people and whales were great! Instructions/info not; tour was not 4 1/2hrs, was 3, didn’t start at 12:30, started at 1:00, was not at Pier 9, was at 5, tickets wouldn’t download or email, and recommend just saying go to Vallarta by Boat tours to check in.

Experience of a lifetime, Fabian was great!
    LoriSmith, Mar 2022
We thought the tour was going to be a bust, 2hrs in and all soaked, the crew decided to make a loop back to the port. In heading back, not only did we see Mama but baby as well. I was able to capture some amazing photos.
    Nice excursion

    Very enjoyable trip

The tour operators were very helpful. When the lady at the ticket counter forgot to collect the port fee from us (we didn’t know where exactly it needed to be paid), one of the tour guides took care of this for us, so we didn’t have to walk all the way back, and got us the necessary ticket. There was ample room for everyone on the boat. Our tour guide was a marine biologist who gave us basic info on the whales. We just wanted to watch the whales, so the info that was shared was enough for us, but he was open for questions. The whales gave us a good show.

It was cut short because cruise ships arrived and they had to Melecio it on time for their next trip so instead of 4 and a half hours we got 3

Dolphins and whales = paradise and joy
    jonathan_P, Feb 2022
We saw a massive number of dolphins and a good number of whales with their babies. Excellent Service on the boat, although the process of checking in at the terminal was confused at best.
    Once in a lifetime experience

    4hr whale watching
    Robert_C, Feb 2022
Seen lots of whales, a few dolphins and one sea turtle. Waa a little discouraged with the way the crew came to each group and stood there with the tip jar and made it feel more mandatory instead of letting customers come to them

    Ocean watching
    Kevin_J, Jan 2022
Lets start with the subpar booking service as I booked the whale and dolphin watching tour guided by trained biologists. Some how my booking was canceled the day before the tour. I called to inquire about the cancellation and was told maybe the tour was fully booked but after the representative checked the tour did have available tickets and he rebooked the tour himself for me. The morning of the tour my wife pulled up our reservation and saw the Viator rep booked us for the wrong date which would've been fine but the day he scheduled was the day of our departure back to the states. I called back and was told the the tour was now fully booked the representative however found us another whale tour last minute with a different tour guide but I wish I hadn't gone. Very few whale sightings from a distance not even a dolphin. Captain seem lost as if he didn't really know which direction to go. Finally he got tired and turned around back to the marina. Drinks were bad so was the sub sandwich. Wife got food poisoning right after and was throwing up and Diarrhea for the remaining of our vacation, I did not eat the sub and only had one drink, my wife however had drinks and ate the sub sandwiches.
Don’t do whale watching with Viator
    TKALBANS, Jan 2022
When we arrived at the dock the Viator instructor was not there to give us directions and no one spoke English. We were told to arrive at 8:30 but the boat did not leave until 9:30. We were told 4 hours and it was three hours. We were told breakfast, lunch and snacks (fruit and chips) and alcohol. We received breakfast that was cold scrambled eggs wit 6 chips for breakfast, fruit cup snack that they poured salt over??? And no lunch. We were told we would have an English speaking guide but no one acted like they could speak English. We were not offered drinks until an hour into the ride and then it was Margarita but could not get with salt and Pina Colado that was not frozen but warm over ice. It was like drinking warm milk. It was the worst event that I have ever been on thru Viator and I requested a refund but as of yet not received a reply

    Whales were beautiful
    JaniceOlley, Jan 2022
The tour was supposed to leave at 12:30 as stated on the ticket, but we did not leave until 1:30 with no communication or explanation until we got on the boat when we were told it was due to a problem with a cruise ship. There was no safety orientation on the boat regarding the location of life jackets which was concerning. The whales were beautiful, however, and made the trip worthwhile.

Excellent service, saw lots of whales, the staff were friendly and fun! We had a great time and an unforgettable experience! I get to check this off my bucket list!
Boat captain that should have stayed home.
    Henry_M, Jan 2022
I thnk they changed the boat we were to go out n. THe captain of this boat would see a whale tail (meaning it was diving) and then take 15-30 minutes to very slowly motor over there only to find the whales were gone. He disregarded suggestions from his crew who seemed to be experienced. So most of our time was spent motoring slowly between spots where the whales had been. He couldn't pilot in a straight line, so even going back to shore was a series of large zig zags. The two crew members were great, but the captain seemed to spend his timing visting with a female friend that was sitting next to him. 3 Stars is probably generous, but I liked being out on the water.
    Must do while visiting PV!
    Amberly_R, Jan 2022
Our tour guides were outstanding! Very knowledgeable and made sure we were very well taken care of. We saw at least 10-12 whales, with 4 of them breaching! Fantastic tour!
    Good
    saraheerde, Jan 2022
Was good tour just alittle bummed that we really didn't see much for whales, and no one even spoke to us about the whales.
