Receive a morning pickup from your Puno hotel and take a transfer to the port of Lake Titicaca. Board a motorized boat for the trip to your trip’s first stop on the island of Uros.
When you arrive in Uros you’ll have a chance to explore the unique lifestyle of the local communities that work and live on floating islands made from the lake’s ‘totora’ reeds. The islands themselves aren’t the only product made from these versatile building materials: as you’ll soon discover, the Uros villagers also use reeds to make their houses, artwork and boats.
Depart Uros and continue to your next island stop at Taquile. Take a walk along a lakeside trail, stopping to explore local artisan dwellings where traditional artwork is created. Stop for lunch at the home of a local lake family, who will serve you a homestyle meal of typical Lake Titicaca cuisine. Then board your boat for the ride back to Puno. You’ll receive one final transfer back to your Puno hotel.
