Hoyo Azul Cenote Tour at Scape Park from Punta Cana

Following pickup at your Punta Cana hotel, meet your guide and head for Cap Cana's Scape Park. This eco-adventure park is located in the posh resort and residential area just south of Punta Cana. Be sure to bring close-toed shoes and a swimsuit.

Upon arrival, trek along a nature trail with your guide, listening to commentary about the native plant and animal life and their roles in the Dominican ecosystem. Stop for closer looks at interesting specimens of cactus, fern, bromeliad, and orchid.

At the bottom of a cliff, you'll come upon Hoyo Azul, or the 'blue hole.' This natural limestone sinkhole is filled with crystal-clear aquamarine water just inviting you for a refreshing swim. Descend the wooden staircase and slip into the pristine subterranean pool, spending about a half an hour swimming before hiking back to your starting point.

At the end of your eco-adventure, you'll be dropped off at your hotel in Punta Cana.

Amazing experience. The guide was friendly and entertaining. Definitely one of the most beautiful parts of Punta Cana. The Hoyo Azul is quite deep so if you are not a strong swimmer it is not advised to move to far away from the edges.

This excursion was fantastic not much is needed. The hike to Hoyo Azul is about 15 min with some educational information and then about an hour is spent at Hoyo Azul which is absolutely beautiful and breath taking. This is a must visit when going to the Dominican!

Amazing and beautiful geological feature with the opportunity to swim in. Our guide was very funny and helpful. We were able to swim for an hour and it was quite relaxing. There are places that you can climb up and jump in.
Included in the cost, the bus picked us up at our hotel lobby and dropped is off. The did at the cafe is excellent but not included in the price. Their prices are good.
There were photographers available to pose you and snap your photo, which would be available at the end of the tour. There is a pretty path with orchids on the way, along with a water break stop. Floats/lifesaver rings 3-4 are available for the nonswimmers or swimmers who are not very skilled. Not recommended for strollers, wheelchairs, anyone who is limited on how far they can walk, or extreme cases of claustrophobia. There are some tight areas, but you can see the way out.
Expect the water to be chilly. At one point it is about 75 meters deep... Do not expect to be able to receive items lost in the deep areas.
I do recommend bringing a waterproof camera with a floater attached, towels to dry off, water shoes, and an extra water bottle.

The guide spoke to the group both in English and Spanish. Had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. Pointed out interesting facts, flora and wildlife as we walked and hiked to our destination. I would strongly encourage wearing bug/mosquito spray. This is not a tour for people with small children or if you are physically unable to walk up steep uneven steps and footings.
