We had an amazing time at Monkeyland. We got to feed and pet the monkeys.
My boyfriend and I went on this tour together and had an amazing time. Our tour guide Sammy was excellent. Throughout the bus trip he spoke to everyone about the local culture and any landmarks that we passed by. We toured by a local cocoa and coffee plantation and Sammy told us all about the local fruits, and plants. When we got to Monkeyland we were really impressed by the space and environment for the monkeys. The staff went through procedures with everyone before hand on how to interact with the monkeys to ensure their protection. The monkeys themselves were so cute and friendly. Overall, I would easily call this excursion the highlight of my trip to Punta Cana.
The tour was so much fun. Our guide Leo was very knowledgeable. The monkeys were so cute. The guides at Monkeyland really cared about the monkeys.
What an AMAZING tour. Interesting the plantation portion, great guide. And Monkeyland was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We enjoyed each and every moment interacting with these incredibly delightful little monkeys. Would HIGHLY recommend doing this while in Punta Cana!
The pick up arrangement was not too good. Tried to call the day before and they kept hanging up on me. The ride to the mountains ,which is beutiful ,about 45 min , very bumpy on an open truck. Guides are very nice and informative. The monkeys are FUN!! You don't want to leave after!Highly recom.
fantastic tour best excursion of our trip we got to interact with the monkeys and then they demonstrated Dominican culture by showing us how they grew and cultivated coffee as well as coco
Highly recommend this tour. Tour guide helps lure the monkeys to your group to get good pictures. They jump around everyone and eat food that they give you. They're also light weight so it was fun watching them fly everywhere. After we got a nice tour of the plantation which was fun and interesting!
Phillip, Angel, and PJ were incredible. If you don't do this while in Punta Cana you are missing out on one of the best experience there.
This was a great trip!! We were picked up promptly from our resort and headed off! Because of the language barrier, we weren't completely certain where we were off to or what was next, but we met up with other buses from Bavaro Runners in the parking lot of a gas station. As a side note, the restroom of this station was the cleanest gas station restroom I've ever seen!
We traded buses and headed up the mountain. The views were so beautiful that I would have been completely satisfied just driving around. We were entertained by our tour guide PJ. He was full of energy and made the trip really fun!
When we arrived at Monkeyland, it felt like we were at a tropical paradise. I had never seen palm trees on a mountain before, so I was amazed! We divided up into groups and went into the Monkeyland enclosure. It didn't take long before they were bouncing all over all of us. We were each given a dish of fruit and the spider monkeys went crazy! We took so many photos.
After Monkeyland, we went over to the plantation and learned about chocolate, coffee and coconuts, along with the way that people live in the Dominican Republic. It was a nice learning opportunity and I left very glad that I had done some things away from the resort and learned more about this country and culture.
This tour is definitely a must! The monkeys were great! Took many pictures, the kids had a great time. Ask for tour guides, Philip and Angel, at Monkeyland. The main tour guide Hamlet was great as well!
Nice sight seeings on the road , interesting and pleasant experience with the Squirel Monkeys and their trainer our guide Philip , another interesting experience with the other guide really sorry because I forgot his name who told us everything about the village people there and all the information about their way of living and their plantations coffee / cocoa / coconut ...

Awesome experience, one of the best tours for families and couples. We were picked up form our hotel and PJ was the guide on our safari bus. He is a character and made the whole experience more memorable. When at Monkeyland, we were brought into a closed off habitat for the squirrel monkeys, and given a bowl of food. Immediately the monkeys jump all over you to get the food. This made for some really great photos and videos. Afterward we were brought into a small living area where PJ and some of his coworkers showed us how coffee, chocolate, and coconut oil are made from the fruits of the island. Very interesting and fun tour and a definite must do when visiting Punta Cana.
We experienced the excursion to Monkey Land during our trip to Punta Cana and it was delightful! Our tour guide, Patrice PJ, was so entertaining that he made the trip even more enjoyable. His knowledge of the local area, culture and the processes used to make coffee beans, cocoa beans and coconuts made the trip both fun and educational. The drive through the jungle and countryside was very scenic. The monkey caretaker was also very informative and made us all feel very comfortable with the monkeys. The monkeys themselves....adorable! The cost of the tour was affordable and it was definitely money well spent. Thank you for a great time and please tell PJ that Lisa and Mama say hola!
This tour was really fun. The guides were great. The monkeys were adorable. The chocolate and coffee were delicious. Highly recommend
The tour, the guides and the monkeys were amazing!!!! This was by far one of the best tours we did!!!!
The monkeys were so cute! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the scenery was amazing
This was a great tour! Fun ride through some little towns to get to our destination. Great guide Alex - full of information and funny stories! Interesting to see the coffee and chocolate processing and the housing. The monkeys were the best! So soft, light and sweet! Fun to feed them, watch them pick through the fruit salad pieces and throw the things they weren't interested in off to the side! So cute! Great adventure for the price! Highly recommend!
Great fun and lots of sight seeing along the way.Monkeys are a must to see.
I won't be able to do this amazing tour justice in the written word, but I'll give it a shot. Just know, you definitely need to experience it yourself!
Everything from beginning to end was great. There was a tiny hiccup at first with picking all the groups up, but it was made known right away and wasn't a big deal. Barely even worth mentioning. Everyone we encountered that worked for the tour group and at the plantation location was awesome! From our driver Elvis who knew those roads like the back of his hand and got us to and from safe and sound, to Patrice, our guide on the ride to and from who kept us entertained and informed on the areas we were passing through, and finally to Alex who was the main plantation guide that got us up to speed on all that happens there. Alex was also crazy knowledgeable about all the monkeys 30 in all if I remember correctly, including each of their names, which was amazing since they all looked alike, and everything about that breed of monkey. Truly learned a lot from him and not just about the monkeys but also about the family that runs the farming and land up there in the mountain and what things they produce.
I thought the coffee and cocoa production portion of the tour would've been an afterthought as I figure most people are going for the monkeys but I was wrong. That portion was also very informative and a pleasure to be a part of.
All in all, you'd be doing yourself a great injustice by not going on this tour. Definitely worth the money, especially knowing a great chunk of the cost goes to the schooling and safety of the children in that area!
Picked up on time, really easy transfer to the tour. Monkeyland was amazing! You had loads of time to walk around, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and there was lots of interaction with the monkeys. We were given water when we needed it. Mimi was brilliant on the transport. Such a character! Very knowledgeable, chatty, friendly and made the tour of the plantation really fun. Picked up some lovely gifts and learnt a great deal. We would highly recommend this tour. Fantastic value and a great day for all!
This was a blast. the Monkeys are very friendly and entertaining. consider long pants and sleeves as the mosquitoes ate us up and you can not use bug spay, but well worth the money.
Absolutely one of the greatest tours I have ever been on. The drive there was so much fun, our tour guide Alex was so social and made us feel comfortable and prepared for what were going to do. The area where they took us to the monkeys was GORGEOUS almost breathtaking. Going to the monkeys was so much fun and an amazing experience. They're so light and fun. It's a once in a lifetime experience that i'd love to go to again! I would only wish we could stay with them longer and if they would've given us more food. But aside from that, it was amazing. The plantation safari was amazing. He took us through the whole process on how chocolate, coconut oil, and coffee is made. At the end, we tried each of the products made there and were offered to buy from them. One recommendation I would have is to put the products in smaller bottles because when traveling with only a carry-on, you can only have a certain amount of ounces. I would've bought from them if it weren't for the limit. Overall, on of the greatest experiences I've ever had, I would absolutely 100 highly recommend this tour for anyone of any age.
Highly recommend! The monkey's are so adorable and the facility is clean and the monkey's looked like they were healthy and well cared for.....Long drive, but interesting driving through the towns to get to the location.
This tour was absolutely amazing! Pick up was on time! It was a 50min drive down the country side of Dominican Republic. The tour guide keeps things interesting! The monkeys jump on you
