We were picked up at our hotel right on time by an open air bus. It was kind of chilly because the sky was overcast and it was raining a little. Would of liked if they had the plastic Windows on the truck. We arrived and received our quads and helmets. We also were offered for a 1 a black garbage bag to put over us due to the rain, and a bandana 5 to put around our mouth and face. We bought the bags because it was cold. Bring your own bandana, I did. They came in useful with the mud and then later on when it dried out, it also helped keep the dust out of our faces and mouths. The roads were very bumpy and fun. We rode through the back roads past local farms. We arrived at a home where they let us sample mamajuana, coffee, chocolate, and spices. We bought some stuff don't know if they took credit cards and used the bathrooms. We were off again on the quads and then stopped at a cave where we were allowed to go swimming. There were about 20-30 other tourists there from other groups, so if you want to jump in, cut in front of the line and do it! This is a must! The water was clear and deep. We spent about 10-15 minutes there. We then rode to a secluded beach where we only spent about 10 minutes to take some pictures and a quick dip. We drove back to the base and they tried to sell us a CD with pictures and videos that they took along the whole way. They were all nice, but very expensive. 40 for just the pictures or just the video, or 70 for both. I think if they lowered the prices a bit, they would definitely sell more. We didn't buy any as my son had his GoPro with him.
The tour was fun, we saw a lot of stuff we wouldn't have seen if we didn't take this tour. There are A LOT of pushy vendors at every stop, so if you're into the local crafts, bring cash and bargain, bargain, bargain!
Would highly recommend!
The best part of the trip was the Cenote and the beach. The tour guide was awesome. Didn't like being bombarded by the locals at each stop. Don't upgrade for 60 - we did and an extra 10 minutes at the beautiful beach not worth it. I'd save for photos you will be sold at end of ride.
This tour was amazing; however, the time in the beach and cave was very short and we did not have time to enjoy. I felt safe and had a great time with family
This tour was amazing!
Amazing! It was so nice to meet the people of this country. They were all gracious and welcoming. Loved the guides and seeing the bigger scope of the island. The only thing I'd recommend is to advise people to bring money on this trip to be able to buy local. We didn't have enough with us, but would have loved to buy more locally. This was our favorite day in the Dominican Republic.
We had fun! The instructors was on point, fun and knowledgeable. Awesome experience. Thank you
We should have one atv per person unless your both small. It was a bit uncomfortable for the person in the back. Bring something to sit on that you don't care if it gets dirty. The 4x4 are high so you don't get dirty. I wish they would ban selfie sticks. Three stops again vendors selling at each beware. At the end pictures to purchase but you get everyone in your group. The cave was cool photo shop to long.. the beach was nice but we did not bring towels so we did not swim in the ocean. They offer bandana for the dirt we did not purchase but you would need for the buggy tour. They did have automatic dune buggies if we went next time that is what we would get a two seater not a four.
We enjoyed a lot our ATV adventure. But time allotment for each stop is short like the cave and the beach. Overall though it was fun. Anyone taking this should be prepared to get dirty
This tour was amazing!
The driver I think Lucas (BLUE EYES) WAS AWESOME. FRIENDLY and ALWAYS WATCHED PUT FOR US.THe tOUR felt a little rushed especially the cave. We had to follow the buggys. Our driver was courteous at all times. Only complaint is the begging of locals everywhere , the beach was the worse and kids begging.
