What You Can Expect

Scape Park Cave Expedition from Punta Cana

Punta Cana Cave Adventure

Following pickup at your Punta Cana Hotel, climb aboard a comfortable vehicle for the trip to Scape Park, located in the resort and residential area of Cap Cana on the Dominican Republic's eastern coast.

Meet your guide and begin your trek down the Iguabonita Cave Ecological Trail, learning about the local plant and animal life with several stops along the way. Watch for iguanas scuttling across the path while you view different species of plants like ferns, cactus, bromeliads and spicewood. Enjoy the surrounding jungle views from the El Farallon Cliff lookout point, a 328-foot (100-meter) drop-off on the coast.

When you get to the mouth of the Iguabonita Cave, put on your provided spelunking helmet and switch on the headlamp, then climb down a steep wooden staircase. Your guide will lead the way through a web of subterranean rooms and tunnels that include impressive limestone formations like stalactites and stalagmites.

After thoroughly exploring the cave and nature trails for 2 hours, hike back up the nature trail and board your vehicle for drop-off back at your Punta Cana hotel.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better September 2015

The cave trip was very interesting and we enjoyed it. BUT we were missed at our scheduled pick up time had to do our tour at noon which was much hotter. Also the time at the coffee and chocolate museum/store was unregulated and took way too much time. Other wise a good trip
