First time used Viator. Very easy and intuitive to book and track the status of the trip booking, and best of all it worked out to be a lot cheaper than the equivalent tour being offered by the holiday company. The trip itself was amazing with the speedboat trip out to the truly beautiful 'paradise' island, and the catamaran back. Only negative was the 3.5 hours that it took from the time of being picked up at the hotel to the arrival at the boat.
The tour was highly recommended!!! Enjoyed the whole time. Book it ...you will love it!!!
I would say if the vendor would send an email /call u after the booking was all paid n done for “confirmation” regarding exact pick up. We were on a short trip and could not affiord to miss
Unfortunately we cannot review this. Southwest Airlines totally messed up our trip. Left us stranded in Atlanta....and could not get us out until Saturday Feb. 10th! Don't ever expect anything from airlines nowadays. No customer service, and all they could do was apologize?? Won't ever fly on Southwest again. Hopefully this company is going to be understanding like our resort was and not charge us for this. I gave it 5 stars because I read several reviews, and all seemed to really enjoy it. Hope i get to experience it soon
This tour was amazing! Lots of rum and dancing on the catamaran. The island is so beautiful and lunch was nice. I would definitely recommend this.
Loved this trip, went to the island via catamaran and returned via speedboat crazy ride . It was a fun boat trip out and we had lots of dancing and refreshments on board. The crew were very nice but we did feel they were rather pushy for tips, so much so that it actually had a negative effect. At one point the crew went around the boat insistent on putting pirate bandanas on heads, everyone thought it was just a fun thing as it was a scorching hot day but then asked for 5 or 10 cant remember exactly needless to say everyone took them off. If the crew had asked initially if you would like to purchase one then fair enough, it was the manner in which it was done. It was however a very pleasant boat trip. We arrived to a beautiful beach, pure white sand and fabulous blue/ green waters. Food provided was fine and entertainment fun. Lovely day out, but be warned, it is a very long and tiring day and gets very busy when everyone is leaving the island. We recommended this trip to others in our hotel, unfortunately they booked through the hotel, ended up having a catamaran both ways making their day so long they didnt enjoy it. Glad we booked via Viator.
A dreamy experience. The stop over in a village perched on a mountain overlooking a river, was a good start, then off to a seaside village to board the Catamaran. There were many different nationalities there, all a bit aloof at first, but by the time we reached the Island, the staff on board had served many drinks, got people up dancing, and people were mingling I know we met about 30 people! From Chile to Portugal to Luxembourg to Iowa, USA. 3 Hours on the Island. Good food. More fun with international folks. Swimming. Great fun! Onto Speed boat for a trip to a natural swimming pool in the ocean, another hour, more drinks, more fun back to the mainland. It was truly a memorable day!
This tour was Amazing!! My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our this!!
Omg I loved this tour, the food was amazing. The tour guides even better.
Highly recommend this tour. It's a full day but totally worth once you get to the blue lagoon the high point for me and to Isla Saona.
Just think we didn't have to stop to practice snorkeling in Bayahibe, but it was ok. The staff is very attentive and nice and fun. What a way to spend a beautiful great day!
The best place on earth. I was so happy to be able to have Christian and Benjamin as our tour guide. They both are phenomenal and made us experience this beautiful Island. Me and my partner could not be more thankful that we visited this place. I highly recommend this place. The beach is so clear as a sky!
This excursion is so worth it. Soana Island is the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced. Ben, our guide was the best. Funny and engaging. When I return to the Dominican Republic, I will be going to Soana Island again and with Ben and his crew.
This tour was the highlight of our vacation. The tour guides Franklin and Benjamin we really fun and informative. I enjoyed the info that the guide provided about the history of the Dominican Republic during our ride to the catamaran. We got to see a bit of the island during the ride in. We stopped at a market that you could buy things at. We rode on catamaran to the island and they had rum and music. Big Papi will pose pics of you and he takes some nice ones although we didn't purchase them. The island is beautiful! The trip there was gorgeous and scenic. You cannot walk around/explore the island but you can walk the length on the beach were the boats are. The food was ok BBQ porkchops, salad, and some seafood spaghetti ? mango juice, I ate it but if you have picky eaters you may want to pack something for them. There will be people trying to sell you things on the dock, island, etc. hey it comes with the territory. Buy if you like but if you dont want to buy simply decline and have fun. The pool where the starfish are is a ton of fun and just an amazing experience.
Tips: It took us about 3 hour to get on catamaran including drive to get all trip goers.
-Bring food you will get hungry especially if you don't have breakfast before. Bring lots of water as they only serve rum on the catamaran they have water on the island though.
-Bring water shoes, there is coral on the island and in the water, your feet will thank you!
-The water is really salty to be cautious of it in the eyes
Thanks so much for the fabulous excursion! Highly recommended.
Very friendly and they make you feel included. They are also very energetic and get you excited, what i loved about this is that unlike the other tours, it was a smaller group and little bit more intimate.
We were so happy with this tour. Our guide was great and so many beautiful things. Thank you for making this a trip to remember for my family!

My wife and I enjoyed this trip. The sights and sounds were so relaxing. Wanted to do lots of snorkeling, but the area was not as good as many others I've been too. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable day. I would recommend this, but not if you're only looking for a snorkeling site.
This was the most incredible tour i have ever done and i have been on quite a few. Our guides were amazing - Fernando and Christian. They truly went above and beyond in order to make sure that we were happy and had a blast. I would absolutely recommend this excursion for any wishing to visit Saona Island. This place was gorgeous!
All around incredible experience and something we will never forget. :
The best day trip. Don't let the cost fool you. We had the best tour guide in Benjamin not Franklyn and the photographer Big Pape was a hoot. And we had a good group of travel guests as well. The best portion is getting to the natural swimming pool where we played with starfish in a speedboat. The water was just lovely. This was the highlight or our trip, other than the fact that everyone in DR was friendly.
Thanks Benjamin and Big Pape for a great day.
Great day out, staff were great, Benjamin the guide was great, Saona was amazing.
Worth every penny
Excellent!! The guide Benjamin and the whole tour was superb. Don't be put off by the lower price compared to other Saona trips, this is simply great value. We were picked up at our hotel on time and although we had a 2yr old toddler, there were no issues getting around. No space for a stroller but baby was able to sit on our laps and was well attended to.
I'd highly recommend this tour as Saona itself is amazing, true caribbean paradise. The pre-trip to the village in Casa de Campo was an unexpected bonus. Go for it!
Saona Island was absolutely breathtaking. We took the Catamaran first to the island and then the speedboat to the natural swimming pool and back to the port. The food that was served at the Saona Island excursion was really good and fresh. There was a photographer present and he took pictures available for purchase, really high resolution beautiful pictures. I purchased mine and bought a photo album and got so many compliments. Our tour guide was Benjamin, the funniest thing he always said was 5 minutes! The same excursion was available but more expensive, be smart, book this excursion. I highly recommend this excursion, my only suggestion is to take a motion sickness pill first so that you can really enjoy the ride.
Altos de chavon was an extra. It is worth seeing it.
Our guide and driver Benjamin was excellent. He did a very good job.The best part of the tour is the stop at the natural pool and the fast boat ride. Saona beach wasn and #39;t as good as expected, the water was milky, not crystal clear.
Our Tour Guide Benjamin was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The island and the Natural Pool are to die for. Fantastic views, great catamaran and power boat rides. all inclusive BBQ on the beach and open bar make a perfect day. Well worth the price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great day on the ocean.
