Pickup is not allowed at most resorts. We had to walk to the front gate to be picked up. We booked two excursions with viator. We had to walk to the front gate for both. The hotels are telling people the trip is not secured properly with insurance but they sell the same excursions just charge more. This excursion was amazing and the ocean spectacular. Food not great.....but I didn't go for the food
This tour was great! It was by far the best on my vacation, we listened to music on the boat did lots of dancing and met great people! The island water had great snorkeling sites (that wasn't in the middle of the ocean) I really enjoyed that it wasn't in super deep water as I was a new snorkeler
This trip was worth every cent! I had an amazing time. It was beautiful! The tour guide explained everything in English, Spanish and French which was very helpful for all. The Caribbean Sea is beautiful!!
This was by far my favorite day in Punta Cana! It was a great excursion! So nice to be out on the water! Snorkeling, drinking, playing.... and that catamaran was so much fun! I wanted to do it again! They did great! Definitely a must do!
This was the best experience ever! The food was amazing when you get to the Island and the water is breathtaking. Very much worth every dollar!!
Highly recommend this excursion! Boat rides were fun, view was stunning, and food on the island was delicious! Our guide, Pedro was informative and very helpful!
We booked our Isla Saona trip through TripAdvisor/Viator and our local Tours company was Sol Cana Tours. It was competitively priced, cheaper than what the hotel and other tours were offering, but felt it was a great value and great experience.
The whole experience took almost half a day. We got picked up at our hotel around 7:30am in a shared van and made a few transfers to meet with the larger group. We did make one and #34;shop stop and #34; where we stopped at a local souvenir shop as part of the tour, which was the only minor ding against the trip.
We speed boated on the way to Saona, making a stop at the national pool where you and #39;re waist deep in water, then hung out in Saona for several hours where we were fed and provided drinks. We then took a catamaran back.
Tips: Expect the trip to take half the day, as you and #39;ll spend half that time traveling between stops, but the island and the sights make it well worth it!
I will definitely be doing this excursion again! Was picked up at the Hard Rock right on time in an air conditioned bus and proceeded to meet up with another luxury bus which made the ride to the shore even more enjoyable. Before we arrived at the shore, the bus stopped at a market where we could use the restrooms and shop for souvenirs and cigars. Once at the shore we got on a speedboat that took us to beautiful calm waters. We had the option of getting off the boat to take pictures with starfish and swim around. The friendly crew Chuleta which also means pork chop and Chocolate - catchy names were constantly swimming around the ocean bringing us delicious rum and cokes. After swimming for a bit we headed back on the boat that took us to Saona Island. Wow, the water was gorgeous. The waves were a little rough but made it so much fun. We had access to a bar and a buffet style lunch. There were also people selling coconuts and pineapple. Buy the pina colada served in a pineapple... Amazingly delicious! We also got to purchase a DVD with our pictures with starfish. After swimming, eating, drinking and tanning we got on the catamaran. We danced, drank and sunbathed on our way back to shore! Our tour guide was great and charismatic. Loved every bit of this tour!
Beautiful!!!! A must do! However, at the catamaran I was expecting diverse music and they were mostly playing reggaeton
Great excursion with lots of fun including music, dancing, drinking, swimming and eating. Highly recommended
This excursion was awesome!! The entertainment was fun and they made sure everyone was involved. the sail out and the speedboat return was great. Visiting Saona Island was beautiful..just didn't like walking through the forest to get to the beach..lengthy walk. The lunch provided was very good and tasty. Visiting the island with the star fish was also great. Long tour exactly 10 hours but extremely fun, not a dull moment!
We had a great time, but I had better food. Not impressed by the food.
This was a fun tour. It really is beautiful there. We met some fun people as well. Don't expect to see starfish as they claim. Go for the fun of the boat tour and lovely sandbar. Food buffet was very good as well.
Was a great trip and a brilliant way to see a bit more of the Dominican Republic.
Saona Island itself is obviously a bit touristy where you go on shore, but a little walk along the coast in either direction will allow you to take some amazing photographs.
The return trip and the place they stop to let you swim and find the starfish is just everything you expect the Carribean to be and the photo opportunities are again amazing.
The staff on both boats were amazing and so friendly and approachable, but I have no doubt copious amounts of the local rum helped!!
This excursion would have gotten 5 stars but the driver ruined it. He was catering to a pretty customer and forgot others were on the tour. He stopped because she wanted to eat after the tour and made people wait for her. Overall, beautiful sights great fun worth it! This is a must do!
The island is beautifull, totally recommend to visit it.
However, the journey to the island was far too long more than 2 hours on the bus, 30 mins 'break' at the 'mall' and another 2 hours on the boat, which shortened the stay on the island to 2h 30 mins instead of promissed 4 hours.
It was a fun excursion, the Snorkeling we didn't see alot of fish, Our Tour guide was great. Loved the pictures that were taken, wish there was more of a variety of rum...overall great trip!
