Great day - had good luck in seeing over a dozen whales - Minke, finback and beluga, with some good views right near the boat. It was hard to be seeing everywhere at once! Really enjoyed the trip. It would have been nice to have more food choices in the cafe - I would have loved a hot dog but they weren't serving those - but since they had a microwave, think it would have been pretty doable? All in all great trip, and bus driver was great about showing neat places on the drive to the whale watch site.
Loved it. Saw Beluga's, Minki and Porpoises. Literally hundreds of seals. A great experience and a brilliant drive from the city. Just beautiful. Our driver Yves was fantastic. We took our two young children with us and they loved it it too 3 and 5. Just remember to take warm clothes. It's chilly on the water.
It was amazing, everything I could have hoped for. The bus trip was long, but it flew by thanks to the funny commentary from the driver and the stop at the cheese shop. The whales were out in force, we saw more than 14 whales of 3 different species. I would recommend this trip to any of my friends, but I was soooooo tired afterwards.
Incredible. Marcel, the driver who picked me up at my hotel, Yves, the bus driver/tour guide, and Naturalist and Captain on the Zodiac boat we some of the most enthusiastic/friendly people one could encounter. The whales were very cooperative and visible, sometimes we would see 2 or 3 different whales at one time. It was awe inspiring!
Very professional from beginning to the end.
Bus driver was exceptional.
It was a wonderful bus-ride to Baie Saint-Catherine and the driver gave us so much information on the way and made the 3 hour trip seem a bit shorter. We were on the Grand Fleuve and that was a nice experience. It was sometimes a bit hard to see past the people to catch a glimpse of the whales but we saw some nonetheless. I guess the Zodiac Boat is a little bit more fun. If I get the chance again, I'll try that one out! We did have a fantastic day and loved the scenery - _
Fantastic day. pick up at the hotel, waterproof clothing, zodiac-tour at high speed, whales and nice delivery back at the hotel. everything was perfect.
The bus driver was pleasant , helpful, and informative. The zodiacs strongly urge to go on them were great searching out whales. We saw a number whales and being in a zodiac gave you the feeling of being part of the action. It also brought you close to the whales and sea lions. Great trip.
the trip to whale watching went very well. From hotel pick-up to drop off, it was well organized. We were treated to a great display of minke whales, and were able to view a small humpback and harbour porpoise, beside pods of seals. We also saw the spout of a blue or grey whale but were unable to move close enough to view the animal due to conservation restrictions. All and all a very worthwhile experience
It was an excellent experience, but worried about the whales and their future, everything is too noisy for them and their environment is changing, and getting polluted.
Long drive but greatly improved by the driver/guide who provided a continuous commentary as well as organising everything. She was wonderful.
We saw lots of whales, a very memorable trip.
We all had a great time and would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Qebec
The bus ride was long, but the driver Yves kept us entertained with history, facts, and discussion about whales. We happened to take the tour on a rainy day. We were scheduled for the Zodiac tour. They gave us the option of switching to the larger boat, but we decided to stay with the Zodiac. We definitely got wet with rain and waves splashing onto the boat, even with the waterproof coat and pants. I recommend bringing a change of clothes with you if you do the Zodiac. That 3 hour bus ride back was a bit uncomfortable in wet clothes.
Though both types of boats have to abide by the same rules of staying away from the whales a certain distance, I feel like the whales we saw were so much closer than the larger boat. Perhaps it was just that we were on the same level. We saw Fin whales and seals.
We heard the larger boat saw some Beluga whales at one location that we weren't able to see. A view from higher in the air has its benefits too. Either way, it was a great experience!
Fantastic. Great, funny guide, and an amazing day. We seemed to have an exceptional day and had at least half, if not two-thirds of the whale watching portion of the zodiac trip, spent watching Fin, Minke, and Beluga whales or the dozens of seals. Food at our stop in Charlevoix was great if you love dairy, as we stopped at a cheese factory. We bought curd, a fantastic house made potato salad, and had sandwiches with a quarter inch thick of fresh cheese along with baguettes, so good. The beer made from a craft brewer in town was good too, I would grab another Mad Cow brand beer anywhere I saw it and I like beer. Excellent trip, even though with the zodiacs we did not have enough time for lunch once we got to the destination, so I would stock up with snacks and water bottles as we did for the trip if you can't last between eating from about 10:30 am to 4 or 5 pm
Good experience. The guides were amazing. Unfortunately, we didnt see the belugas this time but still worth every penny to watch the finbacks and minkes
Long but beautiful drive. Bus driver was extremely knowledgable and professional. The smaller bus allowed for some additional stops to some wonderful places. We saw a lot of whales. The zodiac was a fun experience and the gear they provided kept us warm on a cold day
Good value for the money. Couldn't have asked for better tour guides than Alain and also the naturalist on the boat. And the whales put on quite a show!
It was a great experience for us and enjoyed being able to see so many different whales, seals, etc.
We would do it again.
