Private Walking Tour of Quebec City

Get to know Québec City and its top attractions on this educational and entertaining walking tour. The 2.5-hour adventure begins in the Upper Town district. Meet the tour guide and enjoy an ongoing commentary of interesting facts and stories about this historic Canadian city. Learn about the past and present and get a glimpse into the future of Québec City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, while walking along from one location to the next.

This private tour is a customized experience, so be sure to include any specific requests and desired attractions to the guide at any time.

Explore Old Québec, the historic heart of French Canada and the capital of the province of Québec, with its narrow streets, stone buildings and European feel. Learn about the city's history and culture while strolling past attractions like the Fortifications of Québec. See and learn about the important function of the city walls from centuries ago and gain a better understanding of the defense system of North America's only remaining fortified city. Québec City is the only walled city north of Mexico.

There’s also the Citadelle of Québec, an active military installation and official residence of both the Canadian monarch and the Governor General of Canada; and Notre-Dame-des-Victoires Church, one of the oldest stone churches in Canada that stands on the very spot where Québec began.

Visit Place Royale, often referred to as the birthplace of French America, and the beautiful Plains of Abraham, where the famous Battle of Québec between the French and English armies took place in the Seven Years’ War in 1759. Also, enjoy views of picturesque Place d'Armes and take photos of the towering Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Canada’s most-beloved hotel.

The tour concludes back in the Upper Town district. It truly is a fun and fast way to get to know Québec City and the many amazing attractions it offers.

Our guide Joselyn did a marvelous job walking us through the old city! She asked if we had specific questions or areas we in which we were particularly interested. A good blend of old and newer history.

Our guide was Paul S and he could not have been better: knowledgeable, fun, professional. And clearly liked his job. There were 8 of us and we had planned a private tour which, I think, is a big key in touring, rather than having a big group. All 8 of us would recommend him highly.

Judith was our guide for a private walking tour. She was excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her wealth of knowledge and the fact she was born and schooled in Quebec City gave us an insight to Judith's love of the city with a wicked sense of humour thrown in. Judith pointed out places we could return to for eating and shopping especially where the artisans had their establishments. Well worth booking!!!!!!!!!!

Although a blustery day, we had a great tour. Our guide, Louise, was very informative sharing many little known facts about the area. We are a group of six 70 year olds. The private walking tour was great for our group! We were all able to keep up. No straining to hear or miss comments. We would highly recommend this for small groups.

My wife and I went to Quebec to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We scheduled a private tour through Viator, and it was one of the most pleasant experiences we've ever had while visiting another city.

Our guide Simon J. was not only very knowledgeable but pleasant and affable as well. He not only listened to our requests for places to visit but also provided us with an in depth understanding of the city's rich history, it's people and the quebecois culture in general.

If you're planning to go to Quebec City for the first time or the tenth do yourself a favor and schedule a private tour through Viator and make sure to request Simon J. You won't regret it!

Simon J., if you're reading this... You're the Best! Thank you so much! Your Wall Street friends.

This is a great tour. Our guide was most informative. We liked being able to have input as to type of tour and pace of tour. She recommended a wonderful place for lunch. This was two hours very well spent.

Michael was our tour guide and was amazing. He clearly loves his city and paced the tour according to our interests and energy level. We felt as though we had a great overview of the city and learned something about the history, the local culture and other interesting facts and stories. The tour was scheduled for 2 hours and he extended it to almost 3 hours. We felt the tour was very well priced for a private tour and tipped accordingly. Highly recommended!
