So worth the additional expense as the guide was able to take my friend and I around at our pace friend had a knee injury. Despite the slower pace we still saw all the areas on the tour which he graciously extended for us as we were the last tour of the day. Viator also arranged this tour to start slightly later than advertised as we were coming from the airport and wanted to maximize our time as much as possible.
My wife and I had the privilege of spending 3 hours, with our wonderful guide Simon, hearing about, seeing, and experiencing the history, architecture, and culture that has made Quebec City what it is today. The intimate size of our group coupled with a well paced tour provided for an enjoyable and memorable adventure. We would recommend this trip to anyone and remind them to tell their guide what they are into as the guide can tailor the tour to your liking. Have FUN!
I had an excellent tour with Jacques! He's got a lot of passion for Quebec City and knew his history. He presented it in an easy to understand way. It was a great way to start my trip and gain an understanding of the city, the people and get to know the areas and places I'd want to go back to. And I appreciated that he was a fast walker like me so we were able to see a lot more. I highly recommend this tour!!
This was a great way to look around the old city and to be told the history of Quebec City. On the day we went it was cold, the footpaths were covered in ice and it was raining, not a good combination when you are not used to these conditions. However our guide tailored the walk to allow us more time inside with less exposure to the elements. As we had another day, when the weather was much more favourable, and this allowed us to walk around again and see some of the sights Simon our guide had pointed out to us. Simon also very thoughtfully suggested a couple of very nice restaurants to us. Thank you Simon, well done.
We had a private tour with Jean Francois and it was wonderful! He knew lots of history and interesting details and we could tell that he loves his city of Quebec! It was a good way to see areas that we wanted to come back to later.
This is the BEST way to see the beautiful City. Our guide, Jean-Francois, was incredible. Different than group tours where there are dozens of people, difficult to hear and feeling intimidated to ask questions, there were only 4 of us in this group and it was tailored to US. Besides seeing all of the traditional highlights, Jean took us into parts that most tourists don't ever see. He was very knowledgeable, humorous and personable and also gave us incite to the Quebec mentality which is very different than the rest of Canada. Although it was a bit more expensive than a group tour, the extra was money well spent. Highly recommended!!!!!
Our tour director lived in old Quebec so her knowledge of the was city was amazing. She encouraged questions and made the tour so much fun. I highly encourage you to take the walking tour it was very interesting.
Our tour guide spoke excellent English and told us about the past history of Quebec and Quebec City. He was very informed. Excellent walking tour.
Simon was amazing! He really customized the tour for us, showing and talking about the construction processes of the building and taking time to demonstrate his deep knowledge of the area, the history, the restaurants. He had a great, very relaxing demeanor that was easy to be around and even extended the tour for us by a few hours when we all decided we wanted to do and see more. Would highly recommend the walking tour your first morning in Quebec City. It really helped us to get a sense for the area and all that was available within and outside the walls. Thanks Simon!
Jacques Loiselle led us into a journey into our history. The mission of our visit was not only to acquaint ourselves with Quebec City but also to connect with the stories of our ancestors. He was knowledgeable and insightful providing us with a valuable and memorable experience. The tour was well planned and executed. We highly recommend it!
The Tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The Time of the tour is only 2 hours but keep in mild the that historic Quebec is small. The guide also provided information to other things we could see on our own. As some museums do not not allow guides.
Our tour guide Robert Simard was outstanding! His knowledge of Quebec history and every historic building are amazing. We learned so much, and truly enjoyed our walk with him which he even extended for a while, since we were so interested in his tales. This was certainly the highlight of our visit to beautiful Quebec City!!
A private tour is definitely the way to go! We had the best guide ever - Mari was very knowledgeable of QC's history - kept us engrossed and left us totally enchanted with the area. Highly recommend this private tour!
This is the second time in two years we have taken this tour. I've learned that much of the info given is based on what your guide feels is relevant. Both times I have learned different things. Highly educational and a good overview. Highly recommend this tour, but you have to be able to walk.
Wonderful private tour for our family by a knowledgeable and friendly guide. This tour was one of the highlights of our recent visit to Quebec City. Highly recommend!!
Our private Walking Tour was outstanding because our guide, Genevieve, was one of the best tour guides we have ever had. She was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, witty, and passionate about Quebec City and its history. She made the tour so interesting by not only providing lots of relevant historical info but did so with humorous anecdotes. We learned so much about the city and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
We highly recommend this tour, especially if you can get Genevieve as your guide!
Richard was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He answered our questions, gave us tips for restaurants and other activities, and had a great sense of humor. Would definitely recommend.
One of our best ideas was to buy a walking tour of this amazing place! Our guide was a 10 out of 10. She was well prepared to show our group interesting sights made more so as she gave us some brief history about each area, street and building we viewed. The experience increased the value of our time in Old Q.C. many times over. We would advise any visitor to give yourself this gift, it'll prove well worth it.
Our tour of Old Quebec City with Genevieve was excellent. She is very knowledgeable and kept the tour of this beautiful city informative and interesting.
Well worth the money. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. A family must do!
Jocelyn was the best! The weather on the day of our tour was cold wind coming off the river with sideways rain but Jocelyn was so engaging and knowledgeable that we wanted to keep walking along with her through the elements to learn more about this amazing city! We truly had a greater understanding and deeper appreciation for Quebec after our tour. I am so glad this tour was the first thing we did on our first day in the city. I believe it made the rest of our trip that much more amazing!
