Quebec City Shore Excursion: Half-Day Tour to Montmorency Falls and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré

Quebec City Waterfront

Begin this half-day in the country by meeting the guide and the rest of the tour group at the Musée de la civilisation (Museum of Civilization), located in historic Old Québec near the cruise ship pier by the Saint Lawrence River.

Follow Avenue Royale through the traditional villages and farms of the Beaupre Coast, approximately 15 minutes north of Quebec City. Visit Montmorency Falls, an 83-meter-high waterfall on the Montmorency River (it’s 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls), and the legendary Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, where many a miracle has occurred.

Additional stops include the Chocolaterie de l'Ile d'Orléans, with 24 flavors of ice cream during the summer season and a wide variety of chocolates made from only the finest ingredients imported from Belgium. At the Cuivres D'Art Albert Gilles, learn about the art of embossing copper, visit two museums and stop by the gift shop for a souvenir. Finally, at the Chez Marie bread oven, discover a traditional bakery where fresh bread is made in 150-year-old outdoor ovens. Enjoy danishes, buns, a variety of breads plus maple products, assorted jams and more.

The tour was great! Our guide Daniel was friendly, informative and went out of his way to accommodate everyone that was on the tour. On our way back into town the traffic was backed up, so Daniel took us on a local road that allowed us to see more of the local area instead of sitting in a traffic jam. The tour stops were an interesting combination of places. The Montmorency Falls are beautiful the area was crowded, but we were there on Thanksgiving and it is a great spot!, we enjoyed the stops at the local artisans chocolate, copper, and bread, all were great. The Ste Anne de Beaupre church was amazing even for we folks that are not Catholic. We would recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get a feel for the country around Quebec City.

The tour was great!
Our only issue was that we had asked when we booked if we could bring our luggage and were told we could but when we got there, we weren't allowed to bring our luggage - we had to get a cab to take our luggage to the hotel and then catch a later tour.

Outstanding tour and guide/driver. Good amount of time at most stops. Loved the Falls and Church. Copper demonstration was interesting. Homemade bread stop was timely and delicious. The thick dark chocolate dipped soft swirl cones were memorable. Highly recommend--much better than ship's tour
