Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Visit three waterfalls with plenty of time to swim in the natural pools on this active tour.
Your day trip to the Atherton Tablelands, part of the World Heritage–listed Wet Tropics of Queensland, starts with hotel pickups in Cairns by coach for the drive to the Tablelands, located about 50 miles (80 km) southwest of Cairns. After about an hour of driving, make a stop at the Cathedral Fig Tree, a large 500-year-old strangler fig tree with long aerial roots.
Drive onward into a pristine rainforest, where you’ll stop at Lake Eacham. Go for a swim in the volcanic lake, created more than 12,000 years ago, and watch for turtles in the clear water while your guide prepares a hearty morning tea.
After your snack break, head to Mt Hypipamee National Park to check out Dinner Falls, where you can go swimming again, and then take a 0.5-mile (800-meter) walk to a viewpoint to admire the crater. You’ll spot a jewel-toned lake as you look down at the crater rim, a dizzying 450 feet (138 meters) below you.
When you're ready for lunch, we serve a picnic style meal with fresh bread, salad items for sandwiches and a meat and fruit platter. We do cater for food allergies so let us know in advance.
Then head to Millaa Millaa Falls to take a swim in its natural tropical pool.
Your last destination, and the highlight of your tour, is Josephine Falls, which you’ll reach by taking a short walk with your guide. If you’re feeling adventurous, go down the ‘waterslide’ that drops you into a deep pool, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. You’ll also refuel here with afternoon snacks provided by your guide.
Your day trip ends with the drive back to Cairns for hotel drop-off.
Please note: This is a sample itinerary; yours may vary based on the road and/or weather conditions on the day of your tour.

We spent an amazing day touring the Tablelands. Our guide was a true Aussie who likes to have fun. It was a young crowd except for us, but we enjoyed talking to all of the young people as the day went on. Throughout the day we saw three fabulous waterfalls, a crater lake and several lookouts. A day well spent.

This was one of the best tours I've been on. Everything was amazing to see and our tour guide Roh was excellent. It is a tour I will be recommending to others.

This tour was so much fun from the minute I stepped on the coach, great views, fantastic waterfalls and chances to swim in them. Sliding down the natural rock slide at Josephine falls was my highlight!

It's a long day and there are many stops along the way. Make sure you take a motion-sickness pill otherwise the ride could get uncomfortable. Our tour guide was nice and kept feeding us with snacks all day long. I enjoyed the optional walk around Lake Eycham.
I liked the stops, however, I don't think the rock slide should be part of the tour. Two people in my group got injured because the rocks are so slippery.

We had so much fun on our Barefoot Tour to see the waterfalls. Our tour guide, Rohan, was hilarious and friendly and we had an awesome group of people that we toured with. We all got to know each other on our day-long tour, exploring the falls, swimming in stunning pools, and sliding down a natural rock slide! All-in-all, it was an amazingly fun experience and a great way to spend a day exploring and learning about the region just outside of Cairns. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun but relaxed day tour.
