Very nice end to the day. Nice cruise on the beautiful lake - in style. Very nice dinner - meats exceptional. Interesting short show by the farmer of shearing and sheep dogs herding then home again. Sing-a-long on the way home if you wanted to join in. We would do again and highly recommend.

A must do in Queenstown. The Walter Peak Station is a very well run operation having people seated and receiving drinks within 2 or 3 mintues and the buffet was excellent!!! The TSS Earnslow was a lovely experience, including an old fashioned singalong at the piano on the way home for those interested. Can highly recommend.

Beautiful cruise down the lake to a picture perfect home now restaurant. Buffet dinner was good and was topped off by a sheep demonstration on how the dogs corral them and then a sheep sheering demo. Very interesting to see how the engines on their steam ship worked. Highly recommend.

Exactly what you expect. A great cruise on the lake with outstanding views of Queenstown and the snow covered Alps. The dinner was much more than a BBQ... It was a feast. A MUST DO.

This was a lovely cruise on the steam engined TSS Earnslaw to the Walter Peak Gourmet BBQ Dinner. Our cruise was beautiful in the evening lights and the dinner was delicious with a choice of meats including lamb, beef, pork, a choice of seafood both hot and cold also delicious accompaniments. The desserts were equally as good, you will not go hungry at this feast.
The ambience in the dining room was very pleasant with a lovely chandelier above and the staff were very efficient.
After dinner we walked down to the shearing shed where we watched the sheep dogs do a demonstration of rounding up the sheep and then a shearing demonstration, before we headed back to the TSS Earnslaw for the lovley cruise back to Queenstown dock. I would recommend this night out.

Exceeded expectations! I thought we'd get a boat ride and a nice meal. What we got was a very pleasant boat ride and a great meal! While the boat was full, we had no problem being seated table for 2 and accessing the buffet tables which contained a fine variety of comestibles. Staff was quite pleasant and accommodating. But the highlight was the sheep dog demonstration and sheering it was really fun to watch and quite informative. Don't miss it!

The grounds at Walter Peak were beautiful. The cruise across the lake on TSS Earnslaw was spectacular, with a full view of the engine room. The sheepdog demonstration was interesting, particularly as one dog was determined to be disobedient although after the demonstration worked well. The BBQ buffet was good. Definitely an excursion not to be missed when in Queenstown.

This was a perfect evening helped by superb weather. We had experienced the boat trip on a previous trip some 9 years ago and really enjoyed it. We were however both surprised and delighted this time to enjoy not only the boat but a quite superb meal at Walter Peak. Despite a full boat of people, International in content, the charm of the staff a New Zealand trait which is so endearing and the quality and variety of food available was more than impressive. The evening was completed with a joyous sing song all the way home ably led by the boats pianist. We were still singing when the boat docked back in Queenstown. It is hard to be less than enthusiastic with anything in New Zealand, but evening sailing on a lake at sunset in Queenstown takes a lot of beating anywhere.

This trip was AMAZING. The boat was beautiful, it was very hot on the way trip out, but the wine was cold so it was no drama : The setting was incredible, we were very lucky with the weather. We each had our own little tables, the waiters/ waitresses were very on the ball and the food was to die for! Be sure to leave a little room for the delicious deserts : They are all bite size so you can try them all! Would do again in a heart beat

This was really a lot of fun. The cruise on an old steamer was an unforgettable experience with breathtaking views. Dinner was absolutely wonderful set amid a beautiful garden overlooking the lake. The food was delicious, ranging from barbecued beef, pork, and chicken to salads, seafood, and a mix of gourmet cheeses. Well worth the trip!

The ship is pretty cool, and it is a nice touch that they will let the mechanics and engineers among us get close to the steam engines, but mostly, we were delighted with the meal at the farm. We don't generally care for buffets, but this buffet was delicious. The salads were very good, and I'm not kidding the highlight for me was the charcoal grilled octopus, don't worry, they had beef and chicken available too..

The steam ship was so cool and the view of the mountains and local geography was awesome. Once on the farm it was a cornucopia of wonderful smells and tastes of the food, which appeared endless. The variety was amazing. Then there was the entertainment of the border collies. The dogs operated with impressive speed and control from the unspoken commands of the trainer. They sheep were then sheared before our eyes in moments. Finally the steam ship back with great company with fellow travelers.
