We can pick you up from a hotel in urban Quito. If you are staying in the Historic Center we will stop by your hotel and walk to the market with you. If you are staying close to the airport we can pick you up but that will incur a $35 dollar surcharge roundtrip.

Fun and interactive cooking class in Quito

Our cooking class with Andres and Edwin was one of the highlights of our time in Quito! After picking us up from our hotel, Andres took us to the local markets where he explained all the different fruits, vegetables and meats found in Ecuador and used in traditional cooking. We then went to his beautiful cooking school in the old town, where chef Edwin took us step by step through 3 traditional dishes. We made a potato and avocado soup, tamales and finished with some fresh local fruit and chocolate. Edwin was fun, interactive and very informative. Would recommend this experience to anyone wanting to experience something different in the city!

We had a great time from beginning to end: going through the market to learn about some local foods and juices, sampling a couple of things there, and then prepping and cooking our soup, entrée, and dessert. Everyone was friendly and fun. And we enjoyed our guide so much that the four of us did another tour with him a couple of days later.

Wendy, Amy and I had a blast with Andres - he was very informative and personable! We especially enjoyed the market before the cooking class, trying local fruits and the mote! Of course the cooking class was the highlight and we look forward to trying the dishes at home! Great location, would definitely consider staying at that hostel the next time we're in town. Would love to take another cooking class with the same chef as well. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn about local cuisine. And we made new friends!

Edwin is delightful and the food we prepared was delicious. Quito was in total lockdown except for tourist events. We loved the experience we went back for dinner! By the way, Hostel Masaya is wonderful we wished we would have stayed there. The rooms are nicer than most hotels and the facility is very well kept.
