What You Can Expect

Small-Group Day Tour of Moët et Chandon and Taittinger with Champagne Tasting from Reims

Visit of Taittinger's cellars

Meet your guide and small group at the tour office in front of the Gare de Reims, France, the main railway station. You'll board an 8-passenger minivan for a full-day tour that includes two Champagne tastings.

Relax on the 30-minute drive to Épernay where you'll start with a guided tour of Moët & Chandon, a prestigious French winery and Champagne house that produces Dom Pérignon. Learn about the corresponding history of its namesake, a 17th-century Benedictine monk who finalized the production process, and sip a glass of the world-renowned vintage.

Stroll along the Avenue de Champagne while your guide points out the many opulent Maisons de Champagne, including Perrier-Jouët and Mercier with their massive cellars holding Champagne collections. Back on board your vehicle, you'll  travel through a Marne Valley vineyard to see the grave of Dom Pérignon in the church of the former Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers.

Lunch is at your leisure upon your guide's recommendation (own expense), before continuing your sightseeing of Reims, where you may recognize illustrious names such as Veuve Cliquot and Pommery.

Next is a tour and Champagne tasting at Taittinger, whose grapes are evenly distributed over 34 different vineyards; they include some of the appellation’s finest, with varietals consisting of 50% pinot noir, 15% pinot meunier, and 35% chardonnay.

Your tour concludes with return transport to the starting point.

Please note: wineries visited are subject to availability. Taittinger may be replaced by Mumm or Pommery, and Moët & Chandon may be replaced by Mercier or De Castellane.

This tour was a highlight of my trip. My guide Amanda was amazing and I learnt so much on the tours of Moët and Chandon and Tattinger. It was a blessing drinking champagne in its place of origin. I highly recommend this tour, an easy day trip from Paris too!

We had a great time on this tour with Amanda - it was a great introductory to the region and two of the big houses. Easy day trip from Paris.

This was one of the highlights of our trip around France! Amanda was an amazing guide and recommended a great place for lunch where we were able to try more types of champagne. She was very knowledgable about the history of the area and kept the drive interesting. The champagne houses were very nice and gave very informative tours. A must do if you are interested in champagne!

This was a comprehensive tour of champagne country and we were able to see the vineyards and both Épernay and Reims. We also had an extensive tour of both great champagne houses. Highly recommended!

We loved this tour! We had to arrange our own transportation to Reims so took the train. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. In addition to visiting the two champagne wineries, our tour included a tour of Reims, Eppernay and we went to the Church where Dom Perignon lived. We had a great lunch in Eppernay at a restaurant called The Bank in French. Lunch was not included, but our tour guide gave us recommendations. There were seven of us on the tour. We finished at 5 PM so had a couple of hours before our train was scheduled to head back to Paris. We took a short walk back to the main town area of Reims and went to the Notre Dam Cathedral where most of the Kings of France were crowned. The train ride was only about 45 minutes long. We had taken a Champagne tour several years ago with another company that left from Paris and this one was much better. Can't say enough good things about this tour!
