Did this Nov 2016. Our tour guide was awesome, especially since he dressed up as a Night's Watch he's a legit extra from GoT show and chopped my head off with his sword! Even if you don't watch the show, I imagine you'd be impressed by Iceland's natural beauty that was on display. Waterfalls, volcanic rock, homes made of earth and soil, up close interaction with their distinct horses and more! If you're not put off by somewhat crude humor, you should love the tour guide - if you're a bit of a prude go on the other tour bus maybe lol. Even as the sun was setting, our tour guide popped by another waterfall that wasn't scheduled. You don't feel rushed at the sites, but at the end of the day - you do feel like you saw a lot! I went in winter so if you do that, make sure you wear shoes that won't slip so you can climb some things if you want optional to get a better view. Thank you so much Greyline and the Sword Biter! Now my watch has ended. Get your geek on and book this. p.s. don't expect to see the geyser and a gulfoss - book the specific Golden Circle tour for that for another day. Fun Game of Thrones tour!
We loved this tour. The sites and the landscape were breathtaking, whether you are familiar with GoT or not. We loved seeing the locations for some of the show's scenes in season 4, although they were different ones than what was described in the tour literature. Our guides were great and loved that they had still images from the show to jog our memory. Excellent tour.
This was easily the highlight of my entire week in Iceland. Worth every single penny/Króna. Even if you don't watch the show, this is 100 worth doing.
Some context: It's a mostly all-day trip if you go in the winter time. Get on the bus at 10am, finish the tour at 5 or 6pm, get stuck in windy/snowy conditions, back at the hotel at 9 or 10pm. Honestly, though, it's still worth the trip but keep that in mind and bring extra water and snacks to avoid spending too much at rest stops, and also bring a warm wind-proof coat. You'll stop at 3 locations, maybe a 4th with a cool view unrelated to the show if the group is making good time. Definitely try to go on a clear and rain-less day so you can actually see the sights.
Our experience was a great one, and 90 of that was from the host / tour guide. We happened to get one who: 1 is an extra on the show, for reals 2 Does viking battle re-enactments and makes his own viking clothing which he wears on the tour 3 Is super funny and has literally an entire day's worth of entertaining stories to tell, which is what will be the highlight. Seriously, that tour guide deserves a promotion and a 6-figure salary.
One of the sights you stop at, if you have the tour guide we did, will pose with you in his cool outfit and pretend to stab you with his sword in a photo. Very cool and fun.
Bottom line, you should do this tour if: You want to see the beautiful countryside of Iceland but don't want to bother driving to the sights yourself, love Game of Thrones even if you don't you'll still have fun, and enjoy hearing many interesting stories. 1000 worth your time and money. Do it!
Loved this tour. I had originally thought it would be the same as a Golden Circle tour but it wasn't. The landscape is amazing and it was nice to go to places where there weren't a bunch of other buses. Went with a non Thrones watcher and she enjoyed it as well.
Guide was great unfortunately I don't remember his name
Only complaint was that the group was quite largewe were told that the group we were on was especially large but everyone was great getting back to bus when they were supposed to.
This tour was fantastic. The locations were beautiful and the tour guide was both friendly and very witty! They were very considerate of all passengers, ensuring every one was accounted for and able to do any hiking elements before relocating the coach. I would highly recommend this tour, even if you do not watch the programme because the stops are incredibly beautiful and worth seeing on their own! Without a doubt, this is the tour to go on!
Our driver, Petra, went out of her way to take pictures of my husband and I so that we had some pictures together. Our guide, Swan, was and extra in a GOT episode and he had lots of fun facts about the different locations and places along the way. A must do tour for any GOT fan.
Ok, this tour was awesome. Sure it's a lot of driving. So is any day trip where you have to see multiple locations. The guide was fun, the stops were unique, and if you have any enjoyment of this show then you will not regret coming on this tour! A couple of added bonuses thrown in too.
This was a great trip! Our guide and driver were great and we saw a lot of cool things. Our guide, Swan, was very informative and interesting - some of us had never watched the Game of Thrones but the tour was interesting enough that it didn't matter! Swan told us a lot about Iceland, the country, its culture and folk tales. It was nice to sit back and enjoy the tour and not have to worry about navigating, too. Highly recommend this tour.
A must do! By far the best experience of our trip! This tour would be enjoyable even if we were not fans of the show because the off the beaten path sites we visited were amazing and our guide Theo was fantastic! I was worried this tour would overlap with the golden circle tour but it didn and #39;t at all.
This was an all day tour of the places in Iceland where they filmed scenes for Game of Thrones. You don't have to be a follower of GOT to enjoy this excursion. The guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. We had a beautiful day and got to see many great sites.Be sure to pack snacks and a lunch. They do stop at a small place where you can purchase lunch but with everyone on the bus in line to get something it was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy our lunch and avoid the lines. The fun part was a visit to a Icelandic horse farm and get to see them up close.
This was the absolute best thing to do when we were in Iceland. Be sure to charge your batteries because this is a long but well worth it trip around the island. The landscapes and views you will be able to explore without much supervision or rules might I add are breathtaking and are something you will be able to remember the rest of your lives. Our tour guide Swan was an extra on the show and provided amazing insight and stories you won't normally hear from anyone else. There were additional extras on the show that joined in on our tour that helped make this special. We went past the allotted time and we couldn't be any happier. What also made this trip special was the fact that the guides brought pictures of the show and would hold them up in the exact spots where the filming would take place with all of us around them. We really felt like we were in the show! This is a must see when in Iceland, I heavily recommend it to all. Thrones fans or not!
A great tour. The places film locations the tour took me made me feel like I was actually in the middle of The Game of Thrones. The tour guide and driver were awesome too ad included the soundtrack, makinfg the experience come to life.
Brilliant. Even if you're not a big fan of the series they tell you all about the history of Iceland, great scenery, v funny guides, well worth doing
It was a great tour and such a beautiful country. We saw many Game of Throne sites and the tour guide was super interesting explaining the country s culture and history. Fantastic tour!
This tour was amazing and beautiful! We loved each stop, especially the Gorge. We kept calling it an adult playground. Our tour guide was great, it was very cool that he was a Wildling extra among other types of extras in the series.
This was by far our favorite tour and I would recommend it even if you aren't a GOT fan. Our guide, I believe his name was Swan, was the best. He knew a lot about GOT and was even an extra in some scenes and he also knew a lot of history about Iceland. I'm not sure if it was because of the rain but we were told we were doing the tour in a different order than usual and it would be longer. It was close to 9 hours, but well worth it. We rode in a special bus that could go off road so we didn't have to stick to the paved road. When we went off road we thought the bus was going to fall apart from all the bumping around but it was sturdy and we made it and the view was awesome. It was our favorite location of the tour, but we don't remember what the place was called. It had 2 waterfalls though. After reading some reviews I was afraid we would be seeing the same stuff as on the Golden Circle tour we had planned for the next day, but although some roads were the same these were totally different locations. You will not be disappointed with this tour. I would recommend wearing hiking shoes or boots if you plan on doing any walking you don't have to.
Most fun I have had in a long time, learnt a lot more than I thought I would about Game of Thrones
This tour was amazing, not to mention the awesome tour guide Didi who was super informative, funny and provides additional information on the way to different tour sites about the culture and country. Very nice views and exact pinpointed filming locations.
This is a great choice of a tour not only for GoT fans but also for fans of epic fantasy fandoms. It takes you on beautiful locations and sceneries of Iceland you otherwise wouldn't have thought of visiting. The agency and the tour guide were very helpful and accommodating in the face of scheduling mishaps and an inconvenience with our pick up spot. A particular asset to this tour is the enthousiastic guide who has obviously but much research, work and love to fill this experience with interesting behind-the-scenes-facts/ icelandic history-culture and humour. Overall, an excellent tour.
This is a must do tour even if you have never seen GOT. The tour goes through most of the golden circle and takes you to a few spots you might have missed otherwise. Beautiful landscapes and just a really great tour. Highly recommend
I loved this tour! Our guide Aston was very knowledgeable and funny. The bus took us to gorgeous places that were not packed with tourists unlike most tours and had some breathtaking vistas. This tour requires a good level of fitness if you are going to do the walking off the beaten paths.
My only complaint would be the place where we stopped for lunch: overpriced fried food...no vegetarian or healthy alternative...
This was the best tour I have been on in Reykjavik. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative. He had studied theatre in the U.K. and was able to give us lots of inside information. I have not seen Game of Thrones but the scenery was amazing. The final ravine was truly breathtaking.

I booked this tour mostly for my husband who is a fan. The locations were awesome and I enjoyed the tour guides stories and knowledge of the season and episode of the scenes the locations were filmed. She was great! I highly recommend if you are a fan or not.
