What You Can Expect

Golden Circle Tour and Snorkeling Experience with Transport from Reykjavik

See erupting hot springs on a Golden Circle tour!

Begin with a pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik and travel by climate-controlled minibus to the Golden Circle, a 186-mile (300-km) scenic loop that circles the countryside around the capital.
Stop first at the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Thingvellir National Park, notable as the site of the world’s longest-running parliament and the point where the tectonic plates of Europe and North America meet.
Stretch your legs with a stroll, then drive to Lake Thingvallavatn. Head to the snorkel center, where you’ll get changed and pick up your equipment. Then, following a safety briefing, enter the crystalline waters with the guide.
Drift between the two continents and marvel at the neon-green seaweed and other underwater sights. The fissure’s visibility is renowned, and you can even see down to the lava fields, some 328 feet (100 meters) below.
Back on dry land, warm up with a hot shower and sit down to lunch (own expense). Then, depart for Haukadalur, a geothermal valley studded with geysers and hot springs. Make a photo stop at Geysir, one of the area’s most famous highlights, before stopping at nearby Gulfoss.
Your tour then concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.

this is either a DO NOT DO or a MUST DO depending on the person. The water is 2 degrees Celsius year round, which is damned cold. The teddy bear suits and dry suits are a pain in the ass to get on and off. There is nothing to see in the water except neon green seaweed and slimy brown algae. But if you are the adventurous type then you will do it all anyway.

Possible the best thing i've ever seen. All the fear of the cold water and ability to snorkel disappeared immediately. The suits given help you float so no real effort needed. Although do wear thick socks. Our guides was dori (sorry if spelt wrong) and sarah. Both were very nice people and great help

This experience was absolutely incredible. The guides took care to ensure that the dry suits were a good fit. When I couldn't get a good seal on my mask, the guide traded with me so that I would be able to fully enjoy my experience. Highly recommend taking a waterproof camera. The water is ridiculously clear and it was great to bring back photos of this experience. There is a mild current, so I could just take photos as I drifted along. If we go back to Iceland we will definitely be doing this again. No fish to be seen, but the fissure was still amazing.

The guide was great! Answered all my questions and made the whole experience enjoyable and fun. An underwater camera is a must. The water is cold but you wear an insulation suit under a dry suite so its actually not that bad even though the water is only 4 degrees C. This was a great experience, I've never been snorkeling before and this was an excellent first time.

An amazing experience snorkelling, we were lucky and had a lovely clear day without too much wind. A toasty -5 but the dry suit kept us nice and warm. The views are amazing, definitely worth doing.
