Gulfoss and Geysir Express Half-Day Trip from Reykjavik

Gulfoss and Geysir Express Half-Day Trip from Reykjavik

Start your afternoon with a pickup from your Reykjavik hotel, and head into the countryside outside the city to discover the country’s natural phenomena, historical sites and scenery.
Pass waterfalls and geysers, and learn about the harsh, yet strikingly beautiful, landscape from your guide. Then, hop out of your coach at Thingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and location of the old Icelandic parliament. Geologically, the site is significant, too. Hear about the ‘rift valley,’ where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, and admire the wild stretching plains that make up the wider Thingvellir National Park.
From the park, continue onward to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s best-known waterfalls. Stop for photos, and then visit the Geysir hot spring area, home to Strokkur: a large natural spring that burst jets of hot water into the air.

Your afternoon tour then finishes with a drop-off at your hotel.

Our tour guide was Tanya, a funny and entertaining lady. There was a good balance of tour information from Tanya and 'quiet time' for us, tourists, to enjoy the scenic views or rest time after each stop. Only down side was the constant rain and the lack of daylight by the time we reached our last stop, Gulfoss. Well, can't fight against Mother Nature. We would recommend opting for an earlier tour if you are heading here in winter. Overall it was a good tour.

Taking into account that we had time only half a day, this trip was just perfect to us. Guide was wonderful and he had good sense of humor. Everything went smoothly, it was well organized and place we visited during trip just great and we had enough time to explore.

Siggi and Darren were a great team who made the trip fun, informative and kept us entertained with great stories about the history of the country along with facts about the places were were visiting. Though six hours long, it never felt rushed or strenuous. Plenty of great photo opportunities and we'd happily take the tour again in a few years, when we hope to visit for a longer period.

Easy, reliable, and on-time transfers from hotel to bus and back. Tour guide and driver were professional and friendly as we visited the Golden Circle highlights.

The half day tour was perfect for seeing the Grand Circle sights. Gulfoss is spectacular! The falls and the short hike to get up close were especially memorable. Tour leader also provides historical and natural information along the way.
