Travel inside Langjökull Glacier and explore glowing ice caves on a 2–3-hour tour in an eight-wheeled monster truck. Go deep into a man-made tunnel that's been carved through the creeping ice at 4,000 feet (12,000 meters) above sea level, then walk through frozen caverns and snow tunnels lit by eerie blue light.
Meaning ‘long glacier’ in Icelandic, Langjökull boasts ice that is 1,900 feet (560 meters) thick.
Amazing experience! Very impressed with the knowledge and demeanor of the staff, plus they equipped us with cold weather gear which was needed after reaching the top of the glacier. The interior of the glacier was beautiful and this was one of the highlights of our trip.
This was a fantastic tour. Our guide was fun and energetic, and very knowledgeable about Iceland and the Ice Cave itself. She guided with great joy, which made this tour one of our favorites!
Outstanding tour! The driver and guide Telma were friendly and very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. The drive across the glacier itself was like being on another planet and was equally as impressive as the tour inside the glacier. We had excellent weather on the way in, and would only suggest being able to stop for a photo if conditions permit. The wind picked up on the way back, and the visibility was almost zero for a bit of the ride which just shows how fast the weather changes in Iceland. Definitely recommend since these are sights you cannot see on your own.
A surreal experience! Blinding snow blizzard on trip up/back from glacier added to trip. Hard to believe you were walking in ice tunnels 30-40m below surface. Guide was really informative and sang a beautiful Icelandic lullaby in ice chapel which was do eerie and atmospheric due to acoustics. I would highly recommend this trip. Very professional and well organised.
