The trip was great, we got picked up from the hotel our host Darren was very friendly, knowledgeable and a great guy. The Northern Lights were amazing. This trip is well worth going on great value for money!! You can and #39;t put a price on seeing the Northern Lights! Highly recommended.
We were incredibly lucky to see a good spectacle of the lights, so this will always be a good review! The guide was great, the coach comfortable, and the drive fine. There were probably another 10 coaches at the site we were at, but you couldn't tell there were a large amount of people there. Just a shame about the small amount of people who ignored the guides and used torches, flashes etc which blinded you when your eyes were used to the dark. If want a small group then this is not for you, but for us it was fine.
You cannt go to Iceland and not go on this tour even though we didnt get to see the lights Im afraid the weather wasnt kind to us its still a must to do.
Make sure you book your tour for early in your visit as due to weather it might be postponed to another date northern lights are weather-dependent.
We had an amazing guide - witty, funny and caring. She told us lovely stories, helped understand Icelandic people and culture and was great at answering questions and providing insight. We saw the Northern Lights and it is an experience hard to describe in words - it is just so stunning one has to see it for yourself. Definitely recommend!
Christina was our guide on the coach and she was superb with all her stories and tales.
We did get to see the lights so that's one off the bucket list.
Take plenty of photos if you have some good kit, they will great when you put them on your computer, the lens captures the things you don't see.
We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights twice, in both spots we stopped. Our driver turned out to be a great photographer too and his photos were amazing! Highly recommended.
we saw the lights as soon as we got off the bus. was a really amazing evening! the guide was really funny and topped off the experience.
Can't think of anything negative about this trip, probably helped by the fact that we were lucky enough to get over an hours worth of the northern lights!
This was our favorite northern lights tour. We saw beautiful lights, and on the way home, they started up again much stronger, so they pulled over again for us to get out and enjoy the show. This fulfilled a twenty year dream to see the lights. We really felt that the guide wanted us to get the most our of the trip.
Totally enjoyed the outing!!! We were lucky enough to see a beautiful display of the northern lights. Would definitely recommend this local vendor.
We got lucky! Clear sky and northern lights were visible for quite long time.
Folks are going in winter, bundle up! It could be freezing since you will be standing there for an hour or so.
Bring a GOOD camera! My iPhone didn't catch much of the beauty I saw with my naked eyes.
Amazing tour. Weather was perfect. Clear skies. And aurora was active. Both driver and guide were superb. Thank you so much for this unique experience
We didn't see the northern lights, but you can tell that the guides do everything in their power to find the best spot for you to view them! They were calling farmers at different locations to see if the clouds were moving, what direction, and how fast, etc. The tour guide also gave a lot of great info on the aurora borealis, so at least we learned a little!
Throw on a few extra layers if you're going in the winter! Standing outside can get cold :
Side note: If you're going to Iceland DONT FLY WOW AIR. The flights are cheap, but they charge extra for every piece of baggage- YES, even that carry on you thought was free!
We were picked up from our hotel by shuttle bus and taken to the Grey Line central office to confirm our tickets and get on the main coach.
We initially were taken to a type of horse ranch as you can buy drinks and use the facilities there it may be a long night, watch out though as with all Iceland, it's not cheap.
From there we were taken to another likely spot and were fortunate to have a clear sky. The lights were present but not particularly spectacular, it looked like a cloud of white fog.
We hung around, the sky clouded over and I suspected we wouldn't get a worthwhile look at the lights.
Some earlier trips left at 12.30am and I was a bit envious, it was late and cold and we had travelled that day. Shame they missed the display.
At 12.55am a green ray of light appeared on the horizon and spread out, the lights stretched out over our heads and danced around. I was quite emotional.
We stayed a while and were taken back to our hotel.
The excursion was well organised and enjoyable. I would recommend the Grey Line tour to anyone. We did the Blue Lagoon and Grand Circle Tour with them also and they too were excellently organised.
After been cancelled two nights in a row weather we set off and were not disappointed the lights were amazing .The tour took us to a old quarry which was completing dark so there were great opportunities to photograph the lights
Amazing. I went last October/November 2016 and I saw the lights....the best ever! Thank you Viator and GrayLine!
Very organized, they pick you up from hotel, then change over to a large comfortable bus. You drive out of city to a dark area and wait for the light show. Unfortunately did not get to see but it was not the tour operator fault. You are at the mercy of the weather and solar activity.
Didn't see the lights on our first night out, but they tried very hard went to 3 locations so were able to got the following night and were very fortunate to see them :. Very good tour guides, helped with camera setting, gave background info and some other tidbits. Stayed for a good 2.5 hours at first location and moved to second to try and capitalize once lights began to dim. Apart from the cold and dimming which meant we retired to the coach was excellent, definitely recommend as worth your money as they try very hard to enable you to see the lights if possible. Hotel pick-up was also a bonus.
Driver/guide made every attempt to show us the norther lights from various points and what a show it was! Very relaxed with plenty of time to observe this outstanding natural phenomenon despite the cold weather.
Must see! Your ticket doesn and #39;t run out until they think you have seen the northern lights in full force. Preferable to go on your first night so you have more chance of seeing them during your trip. They are too incredible to miss!!!!
Must go with this company! The staff are SO friendly. We didn and #39;t see the Northern Lights but rebooked straight afterwards with ease, then saw them. Such a helpful company.

This tour was incredibly well organised. We were unlucky to begin with in that the weather was bad for three nights on the trot, but it wasn't an issue at all rescheduling the tour for another night. I'd advise booking a tour like this towards the beginning of your time in Iceland in case of this.
However, when the clouds disappeared we were led by bus to the best parts of the island to see the lights and provided with a lot of information about what to expect. I'd definitely recommend this tour
Bundle up cause the wait is long. Patience is required and it will pay off. I was lucky enough to see the northern lights on my first trip. Nothing elaborate, not much dancing but still an awesome experience.
