Had an amazing view of the northern lights! The tour guide also was informative and engaging. It was really fun. I usually eschew guided tours because I prefer having the flexibility to explore but this is a must if in Reykjavik. The one thing I would recommend is getting to the boat really, really early - all of the warm suits were long gone by the time we boarded and we were early as it is.

Yes this was a good way to see the lights. We stayed inside until Tina told everyone to come. Simply enjoyed looking, then back inside for a warm up and back out when lights were brighter. The cruise was cancelled twice but on the third night we had Lights. Good pictures were taken by the crew were emailed to us. Very happy we took this cruise.

Well organised, good boat, facilities and very warm and very needed outer wear. We were luckily enough to see the Northern Lights soon after leaving the harbour and this along with the commentary made the trip an exciting one for us. Would highly recommend :

The first night we did not see the lights bit we went again 2 days later for free and were able to witness them.
The cruise is a nice chilled out way to see the lights as you can wait inside for most of the time.
The guide can be a little annoying but also he is full of information .

this trip was quite spectacular picked up at hote by our bus about 11pm got to the boat dock went on our merry way,at the boat house they gave us options to were heavy outfits as it was going to be very cold outside on deck about 12.30 got to see the lights but they wer'nt as bright as we had hoped when u go to see the the northern light it's hit and miss on what u see,so after about 3 hrs we started to make our way back to shore , also if u go on this trip make sure u rap up warm was very cold, i would do northern lights again but next time i would go by coach

This was an amazing excursion. We say the lights on the last night of our time in Iceland. It was cold and windy as the dickens but the captain and crew did a great job of finding protected spots to linger so we could take in the amazing sight of the northern lights over Reykjavik. The crew made the extra effort of taking photographs and collecting emails so all were able to have pictures from the excursion. Highly recommended but, of course, seeing the lights always depends on the weather.

Great trip - good facilities and comfortable boat plus full weatherproof suit provided that enabled us to sit on the outdoor deck.
We were fortunate to get an extended display of the northern lights , but they were not as colourful as I imagined nor had expected given all the photo's that I had seen of them .. Well worth the trip though

Amazing views! Great tour guide! Beautiful way to chase the lights. We enjoyed it even when I thought we wouldn't see the lights -- thankfully we caught a glimpse at the very end of the trip. The crew even extended the cruise time as the lights appeared right as we were heading back to the harbor. Wonderful time!

This was our most successful northern lights viewing. They were magical over the ocean. With multiple viewing levels, food, beverages, and warm suits available, watching the lights from the upper deck was a memorable experience.

Crew were amazing so easy to get your tickets show the lights in a nice warm suit. They also send you picture of the night to your e-mail which is good if you don't have a good camera.

This was an amazing tour for my first night in Iceland! I travelled alone - with no plans. I booked this tour the same day I arrived, after checking out the Aurora Borealis forecast. I recommend booking this trip early in your vacation, because if you do not see the northern lights on your first try, the company will let you return for a second trip.
Even if you do not see the lights on your first round, you get wonderful views of Reykjavik at night, and as you get further from the city lights, a beautiful view of the constellations.
They provide you a warm suit - definitely take it because it gets much colder on the water. Drinks and snacks available.
Out tour guide and the crew were receptive and informative. I love the passion they have for the lights - even though they do this all the time, they seemed genuinely excited to see the lights again! And, we got to learn the science.
It was a great tour to take as a woman alone in the city - book it and book it early in your trip!

Superb - we were very lucky and got to see the Northern Lights. Be prepared though, it gets very very cold out to sea.

I was up in the air about doing a boat tour vs a driving tour but thought we were ion buses a lot this trip so went with the boat! We were able to view a magnificent show from the Northern Lights!!! I would book it one of your first nights to go again if you don’t have the chance to see them!

We were kept nice and warm in our very attractive suits. The guide was very well informed, and explained what to look out for building up to the lights. We were lucky enough to see them on the second attempt. I was very impressed that on the first night we were due to see them, the tour was cancelled as there was no chance of us seeing them due to poor weather conditions. Our hotel rang the operator, and they were very prompt in rebooking us the following night. Excellent tour

Initially I had reservations about taking a boat at night in an austere ocean but it isn't anything like open ocean! Instead, it travels a bay that is very calm and the suits provided keep you very warm. We stayed outside almost the entire time because the aurora were dancing most of the cruise. The narrator was a great addition. We learned a lot about the history, geography, science and folklore. Wonderful and exciting experience.

The lights were a bit dim, but the guides were great and very informative. Definitely take advantage of the coveralls if possible. Wonderful way to wrap up your Iceland adventure.

We chose a boat tour over a bus tour because we thought we would be able to get further away from the light pollution and have a better chance of seeing the lights. The boat has 3 levels - bottom with comfy seats, bar and out on deck - and a crew member provided commentary of sights which you could hear wherever you were. He used his camera to spot lights activity and after some poetry from the legends and sailing for 1.5 hours, the lights appeared. The display was not long but very intense and we ended up with amazing photos. An incredible experience we will never forget, and while bus tours are less likely to be cancelled due to cloud coverage out trip was cancelled two nights in a row and we only got out on our last night in Iceland, we spoke to tourists who went on a bus tour and said they had to crane over people's heads and only got a glimpse of the lights, so I would recommend this.

Brilliant! Coach pick-up and drop-off worked well and the warm overalls provided on a the boat are a must. They are superb in the cold and were necessary despite the 5 layers we already had on! We were privileged to see the lights whilst gently rocking on the sea and listening to a crew member singing Icelandic songs to encourage them, which was just magical. We stayed out on deck all evening despite the cold and I would highly recommend this tour.

This trip was amazing, we were lucky and saw very active northern lights the night that we decided to go! We had booked it for the next night, but decided to go the night before we booked because the sky was clear and they were predicting strong northern lights. The company is very flexible and they provide warm overalls, which is important out on the water.
