Great way to get inside scoop, and fun historical facts about the city!
Amazing tour- very long-- we walked over 8 miles. Very knowledgeable guide.
Our guide was great at sharing the history and culture of the Icelandic people. We met at the church and finished at the waterfront. The pacing was leisurely and he'd pause regularly to answer any and all questions.I t was a great thing to do the day we arrived to get oriented to the city and also to pick his brain about restaurants/eateries to take advantage of during our stay..
Excellent for the knowledge and the travel represents everything was very good in all ways and always seemed interested and answered all questions we asked, would recommend him highly
I loved this walking tour, the guide was so much fun. The weather was really cold and windy but our guide made sure we had some 'inside' stops to refuel and get a coffee. He took us across the city center and provided very thoughtful commentary along the way with some fabulous Icelandic dry humour. I highly recommend this tour as it shows you parts of the town you may miss if you were to do it on your own.
Our guide was very patient and keen on Icelandic history and key point that are relevant to today's issues climate, ecology, conservation, social, arts, and political issues. He was very kind stopping several times to accommodate the pacing of my aunt who just had femoral surgery a year ago. He was just a wealth of information that gave us a unique insight into a typical Icelandic day - for babies, kids, and adults. If you want to learn about the non-touristy facts that make Iceland what it is today...join this tour. This is not your run of the mill tour that you can read in the web...
We actually went out and followed his advice to dine at the Place with No Name for pizza! Awesome!
I'd go out with him again!
My girlfriend and I am so happy we booked this tour. Loved every minute of it. Our guide was hilarious, smart, spoke clearly and gave us incredible insight into the history and culture of this beautiful country. I strongly recommend anyone to do this walking tour.

Our tour guide Hilli ? was great. We saw all the quintessential tourist spots Hallgrim Church, Harpa, Parliament House, etc. plus some not-so-famous places with a bit more local flair. Our guide was friendly and informative. We loved learning some Icelandic history and culture. We'd definitely recommend!
Great value for money. We had 3 and a half hours with Haffi who was funny and very knowledgeable. Packed in lots of sights, got a massive amount of info, not just about the places we visited but also about Oceland generally and the Icelandic language. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour.
This was the first tour we did when we got to Iceland and we are so glad it was. Haffa our guide was really friendly and gave us all the information we would need to learn about he history of Reykjavik and the downtown area. After the tour we felt s much more equipped for traveling on our own.
Outstanding tour and guide. This is an excellent tour to start your visit in Reykjavik. Hafa was knowledgeable and fun, pointing out different aspects of the city such as statues, street art and the oldest hotdog stand. Highly recommended!
Very informative and fun! Our guide was amazing and did an awesome job explaining the different landmarks. Reykjavik is a walking-friendly city and we were able to cover a lot of ground. Do this when you first get here to get better oriented of the city.
great intro into the city my first day. Just me, the guide, and two travelers from the states. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. After the tour had a beer and a local delicacy of Iceland.
Such a fun way to get to know Reykjavik! We met our guide Haffi in front of Hallgrimskirkja which was easy to find. He is very knowledgeable of this wonderful city and shared many funny and interesting anecdotes. We visited the main tourist spots and also the less busy residential side streets. Our tour ended at a local microbrewery by the wharf where we enjoyed some Icelandic beer with the new friends. The Reykjavik City Walking Tour is highly recommended as a great way to start your adventure of this amazing country!
Our guide,Johan, was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. The tour lasted 3 hours.Good value for the price considering Icelandic prices.
The price includes entry to Hallgrimskirkja Church where the tour starts. It continues through the sculpture den, the old harbour and Harpa Concert Hall.A great way to get your bearings on your first day in Reykjavik.
Our guide was Halfie sp? and he was hilarious. We very much enjoyed our walking tour, learned quite a bit but mostly got a lay of the land. Reykjavik is VERY walkable small so it was neat to hit a few of the major sights in the city itself harp, big church, old harbor as well as get some pointers on good coffee, beer, and food spots. Would definitely recommend this to anyone on the first day of their time in Reykjavik.
I highly recommend this tour. Our guide was fun and very knowledgeable. We went to some spots we would probably have missed. One highlight was going through the sculpture garden and having him explain the meanings behind the various pieces. The tour is a perfect way to spend part of your first day in Reykjavik.
This was a great overview of the city highlights, as well as a great insight into the everyday lives of the citizens of the city. There was a good intermingling of historical and current information. Our guides Hafi and Johan sorry if we messed up the spellings! were friendly, funny and helpful, providing excellent recommendations for food and shopping. We highly recommend this tour.
An excellent and comprehensive tour of the city with fun guides Hopi and Johan. In depth information and interesting insights into life in Reykjavik and Iceland. Thoroughly recommended.
Highly recommended, great guide, lots of information and energy
This was an excellent introduction to Reykjavik. I highly recommend taking this tour as soon as you can after you arrive as it will give you a great orientation to the city. Johann was our guide and was excellent!
This was a really nice tour! We did this on our first day in Iceland, as the plane arrived early we could drop off our luggage but not check in. So, it was a nice way to get to know the area. The walk was at a leisurely pace and our guide provided recommendations of local interests. Really enjoyed it!
We did the Reykjavik Walking Tour this past Thursday with Johann, who was a fantastic guide! Johann went above and beyond by telling us not only about the sights we were seeing on the tour, but also about Icelandic culture and people. One side of my family came from Iceland and settled in the U.S., so all of the details he provided were very helpful and allowed me to learn more about my family background. We did the tour on our first day in Iceland, and it was a great introduction to the country - we would highly recommend it! Thank you!
