If you’re short on time in Iceland, it makes sense to pack as much into any free evening you have as possible. This 6-hour tour from Reykjavik does just that: combining a swim in the geothermal waters of the Secret Lagoon with an Icelandic buffet dinner and a road trip to hunt for the Northern Lights, all between 6pm and midnight. Your experience includes transport, lagoon admission, dinner, and hotel pickup and drop-off.
  • 6-hour Secret Lagoon swim, buffet dinner, and Northern Lights hunt from Reykjavik
  • Bathe in the scenic Secret Lagoon, a natural hot springs pool
  • Enjoy an Icelandic buffet dinner at a country restaurant
  • Take a road trip to chase the Northern Lights in the dark skies
  • Visit different viewpoints and with luck, observe the natural phenomenon
  • Includes air-conditioned transport, dinner, lagoon entry, and hotel pickup and drop-off
  • Drinks available to purchase with dinner, and bathing suits and towels can be rented at lagoon (own expense)
Begin your 6-hour tour with a late afternoon pickup from your Reykjavik hotel or alternatively, meet up with your air-conditioned minivan or coach at a central location in the city.
Then, set off through volcanic plains, pastures, and hills to the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest swimming pool. Recently renovated but still exuding old-fashioned charm, this outdoor pool is fed by natural hot springs seeping up from the earth, creating a crystal-clear and beautifully warm natural lagoon.
On arrival, use the changing facilities to either don your own bathing suit, or rent a bathing suit and towel (both at additional cost). Then, wade into the relaxing waters and soak in the picturesque scenery as you swim.
After a while, feeling duly revitalized, hop out of the water, and change back into your clothes. Then, reconvene with your guide and vehicle, and continue to a nearby country restaurant.
Take a seat and savor an appetizing buffet dinner of traditional Icelandic dishes, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to purchase (own expense) with your meal.
Afterward, hop back in your vehicle, and set out on a hunt for the Northern Lights, with your guide and driver using their local knowledge to seek out this natural phenomenon.
Travel away from any urban light pollution, and keep watch for the lights overhead as you hear the science and stories behind them. Stop at the best viewpoints known to your guide, and with luck, enjoy a sighting of the luminescent ribbons moving across the sky.
As midnight approaches, arrive back in Reykjavik, where your tour ends with a drop-off at or near your hotel or at a central location.
Please note: Sightings of the Northern Lights on this tour cannot be guaranteed, and are subject to conditions on the day.

Enjoyed every part of this trip: the Secret Lagoon was great, the food and the way it was presented was great, and we got to see the Northern Lights. Our guide, Chris, did an excellent job during the bus ride pointing out areas of interest and was very knowledgeable. We understood that our chances of seeing the Northern Lights weren't the greatest, but Chris spotted them on the bus ride back to Reykjavik and we spent 30 minutes or so watching and photographing. Even if we hadn't seen them it would have been a great trip, I recommend it.

Brilliant experience. Very pleasant driver called Chris who was very informative. Excellent meal. Didn't see the Northern Lights as it was a cloudy night but Chris tried hard to find them!

Wonderful tour, the secret lagoon was amazing and we got to see the Northern Lights! Highly recommend this tour.

The lagoon was beautiful and private, the only weird part was the showers and having to be fully nude. The dinner was delicious and the best dinner I had during the whole trip. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the norther lights but our driver put a lot of effort into taking us to locations that increased our chances of the clouds clearing up, and that was really appreciated.

we didn't get to see the northern lights but that was ok- the secret lagoon was magical and the dinner was amazing, given the prices of food in iceland this was well worth the trip to have the meal and transport to and from Secret lagoon and entry to the secret lagoon --even if we didn't see the Northern Lights

The Secret Lagoon was very nice and it was great to experience an actual natural lagoon unlike the Blue Lagoon. The buffet dinner was okay, but there was a lot of seafood dishes which was not great for someone who doesn't eat seafood. The tour guide was very nice and full of information regarding the northern lights but there was a lot of driving trying to find them. While I appreciated the effort that her and the driver took to find lights for us, we got back 2.5 hours later than expected which was rough as we were flying out the next morning.

The secret lagoon was beautiful, very peaceful and serene. The buffet dinner was excellent, locally cooked food and plenty of dishes to choose from. Didn't get to see the lights but the tour was still worth it.

One of if not the best experience of the trip. While it took time to get to the Secret Lagoon it was well worth the drive. The water was great and was not crowded, like we have heard about the Blue Lagoon. The buffet dinner was great and you could have seconds or more. The northern lights did not take place due to weather but that was OK because the first two activities were Great.

Lovely evening spent in the secret lagoon which I chose as I didn't like the idea of being in the blue lagoon with hundreds of tourists. Loved it could have spent the whole trip in there, the dinner was lovely - we didn't see the northern lights unfortunately but it was still a great tour and a lovely way to spend the evening.

Hi, really enjoyed the secret lagoon and the meal provided was excellent and very good quality and the guide was brilliant . The northern light part of the trip only starts after your meal has finished so you have limited time, we did not see the northern lights ,but other organised trips just doing the northern lights that evening did manage to see them, because their focus was just on the northern lights and the whole evening was spent chasing them and hence they were allocated more time, this event has three components so time is spread between them, if you are really set on seeing the northern lights take this into account.
