Explore the fire-and-ice landscape of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula on a full-day, small-group tour from Reykjavik. Walk along the coast in the villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, find perfect views of Snæfellsjökull, and visit black pearl beaches at the edge of the peninsula. Pickup and drop-off at centrally-located Reykjavik hotels.
  • Full-day Snaefellsnes Peninsula tour from Reykjavik
  • See volcanoes, lava beaches, and cliffs
  • Enjoy a day in a pristine landscape
  • Visit scenic highlights with an experienced guide
  • Pickup and drop-off in Reykjavik
Meet a driver at your hotel in Reykjavik, then begin the 93-mile (150-km) trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. The first stop of the day is the village of Arnarstapi, where you’ll take a scenic walk along a row of jagged cliffs, then continue to Hellnar, a coastal village with fewer than 10 year-round residents.

Snæfellsjökull will dominate the horizon as you travel, and you’ll find stunning views of the ancient stratovolcano, which is capped with a shining glacier. Keep driving toward the lava pearl beaches of Djupalónssandur, the rock worn smooth by countless waves.

The final stop is Kirkjufell, a stunningly-formed mountain peak whose name means "Church Mountain," and looms behind the scenic waterfalls at the base. After your time at Kirkjufell, begin the return trip to Reykjavik, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

WHAT AN AMAZING DAY!!! Our bus was small, comfortable and the pick up process was seamless. Our guide, Ice Man, was very knowledgeable and took great care of us. I would highly recommend this tour. The sites could not be beat and it was great someone else was in charge of the driving :

Tour Guide was amazing!. He stopped at several places and the views were phenomenal. Was totally worth it. There are so many things to see in Iceland and definitely the Peninsula is one of them.

Fantastic tour that took us to all the beautiful spots in the Peninsula. The guide was very nice, but it just ended up being much longer than anticipated 12 hours.

This was my wife's favorite. Much better than the Golden Circle.

Good tour. The lunch place good however was very crowded and it took a long time for food to arrive. Having all tour buses go to one location is not really efficient use of the limited daylight as the stop really took 90 minutes.

Our guide was wonderful and very personable... he made sure we all had a great time. The tour was beautiful but hard to get it all in during the sunlight of a December day... we just made it.

Incredible. Let us know to take hiking spikes. Going in the winter, that would have been helpful.

This is my favourite tour. It was quite a long drive but the place was awesome. I wish we were given more time instead of just 20mins???? to enjoy this falls and the mountain..

Beautiful one day journey to some breathtaking sites. The black sand beach was lovely and it has the perfect amount of walking/activity with frequent stops along the way. Also enjoyed some delicious seafood soup at a stop in a small fishing village. Nice tour!
