Great tour BUT....

The content of the tour was excellent, the guide was excellent, but the noise from the vehicle engine made it very difficult to understand what was being said and greatly detracted from the enjoyment.

Stephen is most knowledgeable and a walking encyclopedia on all things Richmond, Virginia. He makes sure to include each tour participant as he talks about the history of the city. We also got great recommendations for restaurants and other tours, such as Hollywood Cemetery.

My son and I loved the tour...he was visiting from New Jersey, and I am a recent resident of Richmond. He loved the area, and I learned a lot about Richmond. It was educational and fun!

Great tour of the different neighborhoods, important buildings/monuments, etc. with an interesting narrative of historical events, etc. I wish we were able to debark and take photos when there were opportune moments.

Richmond Tour Outstanding

My wife and I moved to Virginia several months ago. Our daughter had given us gift certificates for the tour and we finally found time get on board. It was one of the most memorable experiences we've had since moving here. Steven was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He was personable and highly entertaining. He made the history of the area come alive. DeAndre did an excellent job of driving, and even offered a few historical facts of his own. Steven wore a microphone connected to a sound system that made every word clear and distinct so we old folks didn't have to strain to hear. The compartment was comfortable climate-wise. The windows were large enough to allow clear viewing of landmarks. The tour covered the entire city to give a wide perspective on the history of the area. This tour is something that one could do multiple times and still be both informed and entertained. I will recommend this tour to all my friends and family. It is a must-do for anyone interested in history in general and the city of Richmond in particular.

A Trolley Tour of Richmond

It was excellent. The guide was a former middle school history teacher and she new her stuff!! She had fun communicating to us which made us all students again!! She was most pleasant and was most knowledgeable about her subject. She and her driver partner made us feel welcome. I give her my "Chick-fil-a" award for the day. She made us feel that it was her pleasure to let us know more about the history of Richmond!!

Richmond Trolley Tour

We were only in Richmond for a short overnighter and had never been there before. This tour was an excellent way to get a quick overview of the city and its rich history. The guide was excellent - not sure how he managed to cram so much information into a little over two hours, but he was very knowledgeable. A more open air trolley car would have been nicer as it was a little difficult to see some of the sights being pointed out, and the bench seats were a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours. But all in all, it was well worth the investment.

The tour was fantastic!! The guide was very informative with a great sense of humor. He not only gave a lot of history information but also suggested some restaurants. We went to the pizza place he suggested. It was delicious! I would highly recommend this tour. The young girl in the office was very nice! Will be back for the Segway Tour.

Waste of time

This was my third time taking the trolley tour. The former two times, we had a very informative, historically knowledgeable guide. The tour gave us a great appreciation of Richmond’s history and current vibrancy. This tour guide was trying to be funny and cracked jokes but gave very little (or no) history of the city. The emphasis was on the ducks in the river and the Easter egg hunt, etc. Finally, the trolley was too loud to hear most of what the guide was saying, had NO shock absorbers and smelled of gasoline.
