Get a taste of local life on a full-day trip to the blissful beaches and charming monuments of Buzios from Rio de Janeiro. Travel in air-conditioned comfort to Buzios, a coastal city famed for its traditional culture and pristine shores, while listening to enriching commentary from your expert guide. On arrival, absorb the quaint charm of Buzios’ cobbled streets on a relaxed wander and then take a boat tour to the tranquil islands surrounding the city, stopping intermittently to plunge into the crystal clear water of the Atlantic Ocean.
This excursion was a fun activity, but the travel time of 2.5 hours to and from Buzios takes away a good portion of your day. While on the boat you will stop at 3 different locations for a quick swim, but the boat doesn't stop at a beach or have anywher to lay out like a catamaran, so don't expect to relax and get a tan on this outing. There are food and drinks on the boat available for purchase, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages. In Buzios you have some time to eat and shop for souvenirs. Our tour guide provided us lunch at a buffet in town, but I'm not sure if this was included in the tour. Overall, the group I went with made for a good time, but a similar trip like this in Rio may be a better choice if you don't want to spend 5 hours of your day getting there and back.
