What To Expect

Your first stop is at Christ the Redeemer, which you reach by a train ride through the Tijuca National Forest, one of the largest urban forests worldwide. At the top, get sweeping views of Rio and take the time to snap photos. 

Visit Lapa, home to the Lapa Arches and the colorful Selaron Steps. Swing by the popular recreation spot Flamengo Park on the way to Sugar Loaf Mountain. Hop a cable car to the top at 1,300 feet (396 meters) and enjoy more panoramic views of the city below. Along your journey, get personalized attention from your private guide (if option selected) and plenty of opportunities to ask questions. 

After a stop to purchase lunch at a local restaurant, your afternoon itinerary is customized to suit your preferences. History buffs head for the historic city center to visit Rio's striking Metropolitan Cathedral, Cinelândia Square and the Ethnicity Mural. Nature lovers can visit the Tijuca forest and its waterfall, meander Pepino beach at São Conrado, and stop by Leblon's belvedere for some more city views.

Lucas treated us like family on this tour. Literally answered every question and translated in two other languages. Impressed with his spots to take photos his knowledge of all the sites we selected. I learned a lot about Rio through him. This tour was worth every penny and started my birthday week in the right direction. It was my birthday so this day was special and it didn’t fail one bit. The driver was there every request even when our feet didn’t work anymore. Our guide made these sights in Rio more special with the story behind every question or request we had. Thank you again for this tour and especially Lucas the man with many languages and knowledge.

We had a very enjoyable private tour. Our tour guide Flavio is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional, one of the best guide we ever have. He gave very details for the sites we visited. At the airport drop off, he accompanied us to the terminal and helped us to get the right counter for international flight. Our driver is also very good.

Our guide, Pedro, is excellent! He picked us up at the dock and took us to the hotel to unload the luggage and then we were off on an adventure. Pedro designed the full day tour to make sure we saw the major sites plus a few extras. He is informative, answers questions, and speaks excellent English. He went out of his way to see that we were comfortable and would let us out at the front of the attraction and then park the car and join us. We highly recommend Pedro when you are looking for a private tour of Rio.

If you have limited time in Rio this is an excellent way to see parts of the city that you may not be able to reach on a coach tour. Our guide Guilherme was the best! He was knowledgeable about his city and curated a tour that hit the historic and cultural highlights of Rio. The best thing about this tour is the ability to customize it to your interests and determine the length of each stay.

Guilherme (Gi) was an amazing tour guide who took us to all of the top sites in Rio. His knowledge of Rio, personality and connections truly made this tour exceed all of our expectations. Our tour guide - Romeu - was very knowledgable and was able to provide a rich history behind each of the sites that we experienced. His English was very good and had a very pleasant personality. David, our driver was waiting outside the port at 7am as planned. Hopped in his car to Christ the Redeemer. Dropped us off in front to get our ticket for the tram as he parked the car. FYI- go early as we took the 740am tram with no wait going up and back down. Others did not go until after 9 and waited over an hour to come back down. The weather changes constantly with the clouds passing by. Next headed to Sugarloaf, there were 4 cruise ships in port that day so no fast pass was being sold. After David park the car and met us in line, which was pretty long. We told him that no fast pass was available, so he walked to front and talked to them and bang we cut the line and are at the ticket window. 2 minutes later some lady comes up to David and sells us two tickets with a portable machine, bang cut that line and we’re on the gondola in 10 minutes. We finished both before 1030am. We had time before lunch so he drove to Copacabana beach and tools use through the Favelas. Awesome to say the least. Hit The Palace for lunch with Brazilian Rodizo restaurant with every meat you could think of and very good. We went to the Seleron steps which was very crowded but very interesting. We stopped at 2 churches on the way back to the port that were also very beautiful before he dropped us at the pier. A+ tour and going with just 2 of us made it super easy to get around and having a local guide assist with everything surely was worth every penny. Spoke great English, polite, accommodating and could not have been better. Just book it.

Guide was fantastic. We saw everything we wanted and they accommodated a request to visit Ipanema Beach. My only gripe is that the vehicle they provided didn't have enough room to be comfortable for the two people who had to ride in the back.

Frederico was exceptional. He did the best he could steering us with the terrible traffic, lines and crowds. Our ship was very late disembarking, so Fred helped us decide on a modified itinerary. He was cheerful, polite, knowledgeable and gracious to us as well as others. Highly recommend future visitors request Fred for their guide.
