Following pickup from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro, board your comfortable vehicle for the short trip to the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden.
Follow your guide through the world-famous botanical garden, which houses a variety of native and exotic plants from all over the globe. Walk though enormous redwood trees, ponds filled with water lilies and stately imperial palm trees. Enter the garden's greenhouse to admire over 500 different varieties of orchid.
As you stroll amongst the garden's many splashing fountains and interesting historical landmarks, listen for the calls of the local bird life.

Hop out of the vehicle for an easy hike through the forest, keeping a lookout for exotic birds and monkeys along the way. Listen as your guide talks about the preservation of the ecosystem and the history of the forest. Pass by landmarks like Açude da Solidão (Loneliness Dike), Capela Mayrink (Mayring Chapel) and Cascatinha de Taunay (Taunay Waterfall).
Depart the rainforest and make a brief stop to watch the hang gliders riding the waves at Pepino Beach, then return to your Rio hotel for drop-off.

Nice overview of the area and great lookouts over the city.

This tour was great! Our guide Marcello was terrific to say the least!!! He is very knowledgeable on so many subjects,,,,,,both in the Botanical Garden and the Rainforest EcoTour. Great driver too. .Fabulous day and I highly recommend this experience.

It's a good trip but could do with longer in the botanical gardens and definitely in the rainforest.

Great tour of Rio wildlife and forest. Taken on the tour on an open top jeep which added to the tour. Recommend!

I was just by myself during the tour. I need to walk going to the mountains because we can't find the driver. It was an adventure but I like my guide since he's very knowledgeable.

First of all, we even didnt go to the Tijuca Rainforest.

I could have gone to the Botanical Garden by myself, is very central and the guide, even thought helpful, told us things about the trees, fruits, but nothing worth paying for this.

Excellent in every way.

For four hours tour it's worth it

Botanical gardens was beautiful and the rainforest was an amazing sight seeing, animal spotting opportunity. I would recommend that you take plenty of water due to the sun exposure in an open top jeep. Overall good tour however was not worth the money i could have done this myself a lot cheaper

The botanical garden was amazing! And the rainforest was a bit less than what I expected but worth the vist ! I loved this tour! And they were right on time !

Disappointing. Hardly any flowers in the Botanical Gardens. There were only half a dozen orchjds. Did not see any monkeys. The rain forest for the most part you drove up and down the mountain. The falls were nice. Not enough sights. Excellent tour guide 2 star

Tour was scheduled for 8 AM. Hotel Concierge call local phone # and was told pick up would be 9 AM. Guide (Jeep Tours) didn't arrive until 9:30 AM. Tour was only 3 hrs including time stuck in traffic plus picking up and dropping off others at different hotels. Guide was very friendly.

Had a wonderful time on my your, the group was small and we were to explore the grounds without feeling rushed. The tour guide was an excellent photographer who helped those on the your by themselves. Would definitely recommend

I loved the intimacy of the excursion. Only six people.T

Yes, I wanted to see the Botanical Gardens, but the tour probably stayed there too long. We drove up into the rainforest, but only had time to look at a photograph of the waterfall we should have hiked to. I am not sure why we had to sit in full sun in the back of an open jeep when we never drove anywhere but on sealed roads. Disappointing as it did not deliver what was promised.

This tour was a waste of my time and money. The tour guide rushed us through the Botanical Garden and would not see the areas of the park containing the orchids. He was not well informed and I could have done this tour by myself, as all he did was read the signs in the park and rainforest.

Wonderful tour of the Botanical Garden and Tijuca Rainforest in an open-top jeep.Great views of the city. Never seen so many jack-fruit trees in one place. It was expertly handled by a professional guide. Don't miss it!

Effectively a private tour, with just three of us plus the guide. Tremendous and interesting day out in Tigre, plus first-class up-market meal in Villa Julia. This trip and the Fiests Gaucha day are wonderful and Viators partners here are excellent (more than can be said for the rip-off Colonia day tripwhich costs more than double these wonderful days out)

, Mar 2012

The tour jeep was an hour late. Someone who took the same tour two days ago warned me of that. So being an hour late twice in three days is unuausal.
The rainforest is not that spectacular. And we only stopped for a waterfall and a Chinese pavillion.

, Feb 2012

The Rainforest is fantastic. We made several stops along the way to overlook the city, view the waterfall and visit the visitors center. We then made a couple stops to watch the hangliders from the mountatin and then the beach. The only negative was that we did not go to the Botanical Gardens at all.
