Well we were picked up at the airport by Viviane straight to the car then to hotel my wife and myself the only pick up in an audiA4 nice clean and efficient a good running commentary on the way to the hotel dropped us so we could check in and quick shower for the rest of our tour an hour later.
We did a quick tour of several areas all explained what and where we were, then it was up to Corcovado on the train and the views were amazing had a quick snack/lunch before we left for a city tour again shown things from the new cathedral to a bohemian type area Lape and then on to sugar loaf which also was an amazing experience. I have to say that Viviane the tour guide was excellent very knowledgeable and also very friendly I would recommend this tour as its great value met at the airport and a tour which covers all the main touristy to do things, in fact we got back after 6 ish absolutely shattered but well worth it as we only have a few days in Rio before picking up a cruise ship. If you do this trip try and ask for Viviane she is great value. Thanks Richard and Sue
Our tour guide picked us up in a newer Audi at the airport and took us to our hotel. We were the only ones on the tour, so being picked up in her Audi is probably not an everyday thing. She gave us an hour to get situated at our hotel and then picked us up and took us to Sugarloaf. We were there for about 2 hours or more and had lunch there at the cafe'. The food was great. Afterwards, we went to Christ the Redeemer statue and that took another 2 hours or so. Next stop would have been downtown, but we were worn out and decided to skip that part of the tour and go back to the hotel. The traffic in Rio is awful and it takes forever to get from Point A to Point B. Anyway, I wish I had the tour guide's name handy to post on here, but her card is still packed in a suitcase.
We had a really great time in Rio. We were met at the airport by Vivian Beiser who drove us to our Hotel. The next morning we were collected by Vivian and Anna had a wonderful day with both of them.We were taken to the Christ the Redeemer statue by and the Sugar Loaf Mountain both extremely well looked after by Anna. Vivian drove us to some amazing places and pointed out some very interesting sights. We had a really good experience and teally enjoyed ourselves.
Vivian's husband met us at the airport and took us to our hotel. Later Vivian came back with the van and picked us up. Gave us a fantastic tour of the highlights of Rio and returned us to our hotel at the conclusion. She speaks wonderful English and is so warm and helpful. She is very knowledgeable and pointed out not on the history but told us much about the culture of this great city. Worth every dollar we paid. Great one day tour before we boarded our ship to take a 14 day cruise of South America.
Everything Viator did was great..... However, it rained when visiting the Christ the king monument and fog spoiled our views from Sugarloaf. Now we need to take another trip to RIO!

This tour package is a great deal. The transfer from the airport was very smooth - it was nice having a driver waiting for me with a sign with my name on it. After being dropped off at my hotel, I had about an hour before the city tour began at 11 am. The highlights of the tour were stops at Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain, but it also covered the Santa Teresa neighborhood, Selaron steps, the downtown area, Metropolitan Cathedral, and Copacabana Beach. The tour was very well organized it would have taken me much more time to see all the sights on this tour if I had been on my own. The tour guide Ana Lemos was phenomenal. She was full of energy and had lots of information to share, including tips and recommendations for the rest of my time in Rio. I was the only person on this tour, so it was great getting my own private tour of the city. Highly recommend this tour package.
Perhaps due to the day, I was the only one on tour. Vivian picked me up promptly in her car and we started our tour by heading to Christ Redeemer. Touring with Vivian was lots of fun, it was more like hanging out with a local friend than a formal tour, which was exactly what I needed after a long flight to Rio. After Christ Redeemer, we went around to see the city centre, following which we headed to Sugar Loaf and then ended the day there. I really enjoyed the tour and can't recommend it enough. Five stars.
This tour is great. It starts off with a long immgration queue that result in 45mins waiting. Vivian is nice to wait those 45mins for me. I was really hungry and she brough me to a fruit juice store and introduce nice brazil snacks and traditonal drinks. Off we go to directly to destination instead of hotel.Did I mention it was a 1:1 tour since it is the off peak season. It was great! First to the Christ the redemeer, we got to the tram station and got the ticket reserved beforehand. We went up and took some photos. Next we went downtown and have snacks in a popular downtown cafe as well as look at one of the oldest church in downtown. Lastly, we went to sugarloaf mountain cable car station since my next day tour is santa theresa walking tour. However, Vivian did suggest to go there so it is included in this tour. The view up there in sugarloaf mountain is great. Lastly, we went to dinner at a nice restaurant near the beach. We ate seafood stew which is huge even for 2 person portions. In conclusion, I have a guide that drove a nice 4 seater car to pick you up. She has stayed in LA and studied in UCLA for 14 years so English is not an issue if you cannot speak portuguese. Time is flexible and the price of the tour is the best out of all these recommendation.
The whole experience was great. This is the best bang for your buck if you are visiting Rio on a short timeline and want to see all the major sites, as well as get a nice history lesson along the way. It was very convenient to be picked up from the airport and taken to my hotel when arriving into Rio, as part of the deal. I got to rest for a few hours before the tour guide picked me up again and took me out to see so much in 1 day, including Copa beach, Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf mountain at sunset no less, which was amazing, Escadaria Selarón, and the downtown city area including historic buildings and churches, just to name a few spots. Basically anywhere you want to go Vivian will take you! I had a great time.
I strongly recommend this tour, run by Parati Travel. It was superb. The founder, Vivian, was there waiting for me at airport even though I changed to an earlier flight suddenly. Her knowledge of history, religion, politics, and economics was superb and her commentary added lots of colour to the places we visited. In just one day we covered Sugarloaf, Ursa Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, a Favela, tour of the downtown, Ipanema Beach etc. I saw other one-day tours available on Viator which did Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer which were much more expensive and thought that perhaps there must be some catch. But, there is no catch - a superb tour at a very good price.
I highly recommend this tour, we arrived at 713 am, Vivian the tour guide was waiting for us. We were driven to the hotel, she waited while we checked in, ate, and took a quick shower and changed. We began out tour, Vivian took us everywhere all over the city. She knew I loved taking pictures, so she made sure she took us to the high lighted areas of the city. She took us to see Christ the Redeemer, I could have stayed there all day it was outstanding. We were able to take pictures and go to the chapel for a private moment. She took us to a local cafe where we had a snack, she showed us a store to purchase water, she even suggested where to get the best exchange rate. Vivian ended the tour with a night tour around the city, the view was priceless. I want to commend our tour guide, she was outstanding. I will return to the city, there is so much I will not be able to see because of time. Thank you Lena
