Fun tour with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide! He spoke English well, which was a plus for my wife who doesn't speak Portuguese. The guide and driver were always on the lookout for wildlife as we drove through the forest, which helped us to spot animals we probably would have missed otherwise.
After a rocky start because our Jeep did not pick us up, it turned out to be a most enjoyable ride. Gabriel and Maria could not have been more informative and accommodating. We were disappointed in the lack of bird life, but the forest was beautiful.
We were VERY pleased with this tour, as they showed up slightly early and waited 10 minutes while we finished breakfast. The guide and the driver were very friendly and accommodating. We learned a lot of local history and culture as we made our way through the city and into the Tijuca Forest. We will highly recommend this tour for any friends that may be visiting in the future.
This tour was great! Our tour guide David was amazing. He is very knowledgeable about the Rain Forest and was able to answer just about every question. This tour is great for amazing pictures of the city. During our tour we were able to learn about the Rain Forest, got amazing panoramic pictures of the city, were able to see a beautiful water fall, encountered numerous monkeys and other animals. I would definitely recommend this tour to nature lovers and those that want amazing pictures.
Wow what a highlight of our trip, we loved every second of it. Ian was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable and his English was excellent.
Would recommend in a heart beat
Ian even sang Happy Birthday to my partner
Great fun! The Tijuca forest is an amazing place with some wonderful views and scenes. We saw several wild animals in the dense jungle and our guide was terrific.
Stunning Rain Forrest not all that far from downtown Rio. Our guide, Jane, was delightful and knowledgeable about forest, and all else about Rio. Her English, learning during a year in Miami, was great. We couldn't have asked for a better companion for this tour. Beside the wonderful scenery, the waterfalls, etc., we also came upon a family of coatis. This was fun to see.
Really cool trip! Plenty of time spent at each place, and each place is absolutely beautiful, the tour guide was great and spoke at least 4 languages! Wear decent shoes as i wore flip flops like a wolly and got bitten by a giant ant! Highly recommend not the ant thing
It was one of our favorite tours in Rio. Got to ride on a the back of a Jeep around the city and the rain forest.
A short hike to the water falls and see a lot of amazing view.
It was amazingly refreshing to drive through a rainforest in an open jeep, so close to the city! Our guide Augusto was one the best guides I've ever had: he shared lots of stories and interesting trivia not just about the Tijuca Forest but also about the history of Brazil and Rio and various places in the city. Highly recommended!
This was so much fun! Met some great people on the tour and since it is a small group that you go out with it is an intimate experience. We even had an impromptu sing-a-long. The forest is beautiful and we got to see some amazing panoramic views of the city, as well as spotted a monkey up close and personal.
Ana Lima was excellent! She was full of knowledge! We highly recommend her as a tour guide!
We rode around in the back of a truck bed that was open and had belts. That means the weather better be good which it was for me thankfully. We had I think 3 stops and some very light walking. If you are short on time and want to catch a small glimpse of the rain forest then this is a good choice.
The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful, magnificent views, great experience - great tour overall!
The tour was amazing despite the less than stellar weather. Our guide was knowledgeable and very kind. Thanks to her!!!!
The guide got to my hotel ahead of schedule and I was able to hop on to the jeep 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. The guide was very knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and pointed out many important buildings, landmarks, etc. on the way to and from the forest. He even asked the driver to take us through a more scenic route on the way back. The forest itself was nice (a bit cool, so bring a light jacket or sweater) and I did get to see some monkeys during the hike.
Overall, I didn't feel rushed during the trip. There were several stops within the forest, including at the Chinese view, waterfalls, a museum and the 15-20 min hike. They do pick up other people on the way to the forest, but that wasn't a big deal for me as I had time to spare and had planned to spend about half a day on the trip. The guide picked me up from my hotel in the neighborhood of Flamengo, even though it wasn't listed as a pick up point when I booked my trip on Viator, so that was a nice surprise.
My husband and I were very pleased with this tour. The tour guide named Fabio was punctual and picked us up at our hotel lobby right on time. He was a smart man who spoke three different languages. This allowed us to ask him questions about the Tijuca Rain Forest and Rio de Janeiro as well. It was interesting to go through Favela Rocinha where we saw a man on a bike with a dog on his back. The first stop of the tour was the beautiful Cascatinha Falls. We also stopped at an old Carmelite chapel. The last stop was Vista Chinesa where you'll see a remarkable view of Rio de Janeiro. The tour was worth the price. We were so happy we tipped Fabio US$20. And he was also accomodating and allowed us to get dropped off at the Hippie Market in Ipanema where we enjoyed some shopping.
