What You Can Expect

Amalfi Coast Small-Group Day Trip from Rome Including Positano

Enjoy your day trip along the Amalfi Coast to Positano and Amalfi!

From Rome, your day trip starts with the 2-hour ride by high-speed train to Naples, where you’ll meet your driver and transfer to a minivan for the drive to Positano. Journey along the Amalfi Coast Road, a winding stretch of road that provides panoramic views of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Pass by lemon groves and candy-colored villas while listening to narration about the area.

When you arrive in Positano, you have free time to wander around the village independently. Known as the ‘Jewel of the Amalfi Coast,’ this quintessential Italian Mediterranean village sits against the mountainside, boasting a spectacular location on the rocky shoreline. Perhaps take a walk along narrow lanes lined with shops, relax on the pebble beach, go swimming or enjoy a bite to eat or drink at a café.

Return to the minivan to continue your day trip to your second village, Amalfi, home to charming architecture and historical sights like Amalfi Cathedral, a 9th-century church in the main square. You have more free time here to explore on your own. Then make the drive back to Naples for the return train ride to Rome, where your day trip ends.

Highly recommend this terrific, well-paced tour. Great day from start to finish! Our guide Antonella was fantastic. She was informative, organised and always on the lookout for the best vantage point for great photos. And our bus driver was amazing! Also, having been on a different tour with another company that used a bus the whole way to Naples, taking the train from Rome to Naples then a bus was a much better way to go.

It was a great tour. Small group, good driver and we had an enjoyable journey. I would recommend this to anyone who's strapped for time but don't want to miss Positano/Amalfi - a beautiful area not to be missed :

Fabio was a great guide. He provided plenty of information and our trip was in the very safe hands of our bus driver. That was important because the roads are narrow and could be very dangerous but I felt extremely safe for the whole trip.
The coast and the history are very interesting. You see some of the influence of the rich and famous as well as the ancient developments in these beautiful coastal villages. The train trip from Rome to Naples is also worthwhile.
I would recommend this if you have a day and want a slightly slower pace but some fabulous views, towns, history and the opportunity to wander the streets of two little villages on the coast.
Thank you so much. Jenny O'Connell
