What You Can Expect

Amalfi Coast Small-Group Day Trip from Rome Including Positano

Enjoy your day trip along the Amalfi Coast to Positano and Amalfi!

From Rome, your day trip starts with the 2-hour ride by high-speed train to Salerno, where you’ll meet your driver and transfer to a minivan for the drive to Positano. Journey along the Amalfi Coast Road, a winding stretch of road that provides panoramic views of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Pass by lemon groves and candy-colored villas while listening to narration about the area.

When you arrive in Positano, you have free time to wander around the village independently. Known as the ‘Jewel of the Amalfi Coast,’ this quintessential Italian Mediterranean village sits against the mountainside, boasting a spectacular location on the rocky shoreline. Perhaps take a walk along narrow lanes lined with shops, relax on the pebble beach, go swimming or enjoy a bite to eat or drink at a café.

Return to the minivan to continue your day trip to your second village, Amalfi, home to charming architecture and historical sights like Amalfi Cathedral, a 9th-century church in the main square. You have more free time here to explore on your own. Then make the drive back to Salerno for the return train ride to Rome, where your day trip ends.

It was just enough to get a taste for the coast and now I know where I would go. So beautiful!

The trip and tour guides were great! Unfortunately the only downfall was it down pours much of the time. Nevertheless, that is beyond anyone's control so despite the terrible weather, the trip was full of potential and great

Loved it. It is a must do if you have a free day but not enough time to spend a few nights in the amalfi coast. So glad we did this tour.

Tour was great! Tour guides were excellent and exciting. Very accommodating. All wouldn and #39;t have been possible without the precise driver!!!!!
Prior to my first trip to Italy, everyone had me thinking Amalfi Coast would be the best.
I loved all stops but my favorite was Positano.

This was a nice, slower paced tour of the Amalfi coast. We had great tour guides, weather and a lovely day at both stops.

We had a GREAT time in Positano and Amalfi! My only complaint is that the bus ride is not that comfortable and I wish we could have had more time in each town. However, this is a must do experience if you are able to take a day trip. Our tour guide on the bus, Georgia, was so nice and did a wonderful job. Our travel guide was Rosella who was also pleasant and made sure to take care of our group! I loved each town, the food is amazing and the sights are to die for. The water is so beautiful! I have some awesome images from the ride up and down the coast. The ride up and down is so cool! Its amazing to see how the drivers navigate such tight, winding roads. I would love to visit again!
