See the sights of the Roman Forum on this exciting Rome walking tour!

After meeting your guide, your half-day Rome walking tour start by entering the Colosseum.

With your guide, explore the first and second levels of this legendary amphitheatre, learning interesting facts such as how seats were assigned according to social class. You’ll also hear about the gruesome gladiator games, the Colosseum’s main attraction that provided much entertainment to the crowd. Then follow your guide back outside to walk around the neighboring streets, where the commercial and political center of ancient Rome once stood.

Head to the Roman Forum, where you’ll check out historic ruins such as the Temple of Caesar and listen to stories about the power and backstabbing that went on during this period of Roman history. Other sites you’ll see include the Arch of Septimius Severus, the colonnaded Regia, the Gemonian stairs and the Temple of Vespasian and Titus.

From here continue to Rome’s historic center (centro storico) to see well-known attractions like the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Check out the square’s three fountains designed by famous baroque sculptor Bernini before your tour ends here, the perfect central location from which you can continue exploring Rome on your own.

Perfect start to the day at the Coliseum and the Roman Forum. It was quite hot, but we took regular stops and rests since there were quite a few older people in the group, including my dad. I am not one for group tours, but it was worth it for the extra insight and guidance from our tour guide and skip-the-line entry.

We went through all important landmarks of Rome in 3.5 hrs! Our tour guide forgot his name was very knowledge and talked non-stop the entire 3.5 hrs to give us historic facts and information on each landmark. It is a long walk but was worth it. Our children are 16, 13 and 11. Probably because we just landed that morning, they were exhausted from walking toward the end of the tour. Yet, I think it is worth it!

Excellent tour providing the opportunity to see several famous icons without being rushed. Guide was excellent Joseph in explaining and plenty of free time as well.

Our tour guide was Guiseppe ( I think that is how you spell it). He was AMAZING! We did not feel rushed at all and he was very informative about everything! If you are able to request tour guides, he is your guy!
