Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Fast-track access makes for a more relaxed and in-depth experience of Rome's biggest attraction. Plus, you get to see the Roman Forum and take in panoramic views from Palatine Hill.
Your tour starts outside the Colosseum, where you’ll meet your guide, a Roman history enthusiast, and skip the entrance line with your fast-track ticket.

Inside, begin below ground to explore the Colosseum’s tunnels, chambers and pits. This section of the amphitheater is only open to a select number of visitors each day, so enjoy this exclusive chance to see more than most people do. While you walk through the underground passageways, listen to stories about the wild animals who were held down here and the Roman gladiators who prepared for their battles here.

Next, head upward, stopping on the arena floor level. Most visitors are restricted to walk only around the edge, but you have access to walk on the floor itself, standing on the same spot where the battles took place. Not much of the original floor remains, but you can peer down through the gaps to see the underground chambers.

Upon exiting the Colosseum, walk with your guide over to the Roman Forum, once the political heart of the city. Take in the sprawl of ancient ruins, and walk up Palatine Hill, once home to Ancient Rome’s wealthy residents, for a view of Circus Maximus, where chariot races took place. Your tour ends on Via Sacra, the main street of Ancient Rome that links the Colosseum to Capitoline Hill.

Please note: The order of sites visited may be reversed during your tour.

We were fortunate to have David as our guide. He was very educated of the history and life of the Romans during this time period. The tour and information was excellent!! And David very personable. I did overhear some of the other guides who where not as descriptive or passionate of the ancient history, which made us feel very fortunate to have David.

I was nervous at first. This tour couldn't have been better! Our guide was fantastic! She was well informed and passionate at what she does. I will definately book with them again.

Great knowledge from tour guides and sites are amazing. Very interesting to hear and see the history from the colosseum.

Directions to meeting point, excellent!Check-In, very easy.Guide (Emmy, short for Emmanuelle), funny and informative - a joy to spend time withSecondary Guide for Colosseum (Giovanni), informative and a bit dry, but very goodBy the time we reached the end of the tour we were surely on information overload and tired. There is a lot of walking, but that was expected and the terrain is uneven everywhere. We knew what we were getting in to and we would surely recommend this tour to others if you are mobile and have decent stamina.

Booking was so easy. Our guide (Davide) was amazing! Courteous, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was very interactive. Great tour of the Colosseum and surrounding area. Definitely recommend.

the tour was as informative as you could expect. The meeting point was easy to find and the check in process was simple. The second guide inside the Colosseum seemed to run out of information to fill up our allotted time. Going "underground" did not provide any new insights to this tour that were not explainable from the arena floor. The Forum and Palatine Hill are expansive, the tour cannot possibly show you everything. Make time to explore a little on your own after. Our guide Barbara, an archeologist, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about every inch the site.

Very expensive tour but worth it our guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the history lesson. Good tour

This is the tour I would suggest for the colosseum as you get a great archeologist to give the tour underground and they do a FANTASTIC job of bringing history to life. The guide also did a great job at both Palentine and the forum - worth every penny. Definitely not to be missed.

This was a good tour, very interesting and much information especially the underground part. Gave me an understanding of what it would have been like for the gladiators and animals etc.
It was exceptionally hot on the day we went and very very crowded but I expected the crowds. My only hesitation in not giving 5 stars was I felt the whole tour was a little too lengthy and almost the whole group were flagging towards the end and ready to go.

Wonderful tour full of history. Emiliano was an excellent tour guide as was the guide that showed us the Colosseum. Fantastic! Would have liked to go at 9am instead of them changing it to 11am and would have liked to walk on the actual Colosseum floor which was closed that day but overal a fantastic tour. Highly recommended!
