Both towns incredibly beautiful. The Dome of Orvieto quite a discovery.
Orvieto and Assisi are beautiful and intriguing villages. Would have liked a little more time in both. Perhaps this could be organised by actually having lunch in Assisi itself rather than turning off to stop en route.
A wonderful day tour, beautiful scenery and great guide. Orvieto and Assisi are beautiful and well worth a visit. I have since returned to both.
Very good, long drive through beautiful countryside. Guide was great

Tremenda experiencia, lugar hermoso . Ovieto y Perugina nos encanto tambien.
Informative and relaxing trip. Felt well taken care of by tour guide. Wonderful day!
Very nice lunch on the way, wished we could have stayed in Orvieto more than an hour, but there was a lot to see and go over in Assisi. On a whole the trip was very nice and would recommend it. The bus was a small bus that help approximately 20, and was very comfortable and our driver did a great job. Both of our guides were very informative and we enjoyed them as well.
This trip is fabulous and our guide Christina went out of her way to make the tour a memorable one. The tour includes the Santa Maria Degli Angeli Basilica situated on the plain below Assisi which was really interesting as the small 13th Century church within the vast basilica is where Saint Clare and Saint Francis prayed together.a church within a church. St Francis also died in the Chapel of the Transito in the bassilica. The only disappointment in all three of the churches visited in Assisi is that photography is totally banned inside the churches. This is a ridiculous rule as we visited countless churches in Italy with the only restriction being no flash photography. It would also have been nice to have been be able to visit the picturesque early 14th Century Rocca Maggiore Castle perched on the hilltop above Assisi as tour option for those who were not that religious or on a pilgrimage to see the Saint Clare and Saint Francis Churches in Assisi.
Orvieto was also an interesting, pretty, medieval hilltop town with a magnificent Gothic church where photography is allowed inside the church. This day trip is a full 13 hour trip as you only arrive back in Rome at about 9pm but it's really worth it.
Superb day out. Great lunch. Our tour guide Sylvia and driver Luigi were fab!
This was a fantastic trip, lunch was excellent, the only hiccup was not enough time allowed to visit the sites
Our tour guide was a disappointment, she couldn't speak or understand much English and didn't seem interested in the group. The trip to Orvieto was a beautiful ride on the comfortable bus. Orvieto is awesome!!! We only got 1 hour free time to look around, I wish we could have skipped lunch as a group later in the day and do lunch on our own so we could have had more time in each place. Lunch was only average anyway. We had some ladies that were late getting back to the bus so they held the bus and made us late to Assisi so we only got 10 minutes free time there. Again, they should have made lunch shorter, it was about 2 wasted hours and way out of our way. The tour itself I would give 2 stars, do it with a different company it was Eco tours or do it on your own, the 2 towns I give 5 stars. I felt cheated we didn't get much free time to see either place.

As always Viator come through, we booked three tickets to go to Orvieto and Assisi this was going to be our second time in both cities, but we took our granddaughter on this trip. The the local tour operator that Viator choose as always were excellent. We were pick up at the hotel on time, left from the travel agency on time the tour guide was very good. In Orvieto he gave us a good explanation of the sites and gave us plenty of free time, on our way to Assisi we stopped for a great lunch included with the tour in the Umbria region. When we got to Assisi we picked up another tour guide from the area which he gave us an excellent walking tour of the city. It was long tiring tour that lasted for 12 hours but worth every minute. Excellent tour.
Sylvia was wonderful. Beautiful countryside, churches and towns
Great tour guide and overall tour. The morning started foggy but cleared up nicely to take in all the amazing sites.

Absolutely wonderful day. The guide Mara took great care of the group. Lunch was quite tasty. Only negative was no free time at all in Assisi, I had to basically leave the group at times to take photos - maybe reduce the time at the third place and allow more free time in Assisi? The fellow travellors on this tour was the best out of all the trips I did in Italy - really nice group of people.
Awesome in all respects - bus a little uncomfortable but the aches were worth it with Orvieto and Assisi two of the most wonderful places in Italy. Stunning from start to finish with an excellent guide who took the time to share his knowledge and to help create a Oedipal day for all.
This was the best part of our trip to Rome, Our Guide Christina as great and was very friendly. It was great to get out of the crowded city to the Umbria countryside. There was ample time to go around Assisi, but we wish we had some more time to stop by the great range of shops selling curios. If you are doing this as a religious person its really a heartwarming experience to see the burial place of St.Clare and St.Francis.
Our driver Marco was specially helpful helping us with our kids strollers.
I think Assisi is the most beautiful walled hill town around Rome. Orvieto was a surprise, a wonderful surprise. Visited before, stayed overnight but the town had a not lived in look because so many of the shops and dwellings were mere rubble. Now there is activity in every nook and corner and the views from the ramparts are still breath taking.
We went just yesterday and we had the best if time. Our guide Cristina was warm, caring and knowledgeable and the driver Guiseppe was great. Orvieto is a beautiful medieval town worthy of a visit. Then we had lunch in Tuscany and the food was great. We went on to Assisi where we met another local guide Marixelle who was great and funny. Assisi is unforgettable. The tour goes and comes on time. The bus is comfortable and if's worth your money. Highly recommended.
A full long day but a great way to see both cities and the time in each is perfect. We went in March and although it was warm and sunny in Rome it was quiet chilly as both cities are high up in the mountains. We were prepared with layers so not an issue, but something to remember as some of our people had only shorts and shirts. Made it not as enjoyable for them unfortunately. The views form both cities to the country side are just outstanding. The churches and streets are a site to behold. Delivers on what they promise.
