This was a great tour. Our driver, Vlad, was an endearing and warm individual who was full of information. My children really liked him. He picked up our family of four from our cruise ship on time with a sign. He drove us in a nice air conditioned Mercedes van into Rome and explained how to use the skip the line tickets at both sites and warned us about what to expect and how to navigate the Vatican. I told Vlad my mother and her friend happened to be visiting Rome that same day so he made reservations for us at a restaurant near the Trevi fountain and waited while we dined. He took us to all the highlights of ancient and Medieval Rome, stopped anywhere we asked and waited patiently while we toured. He was knowledgeable and his English was excellent I think he spoke 6 languages. He was personable and easily passed the time in the long ride to Rome with engaging conversation and answers to our volley of questions. In terms of the sites - I have never seen anything as crowded as the Vatican or Colosseum! It was very hard to absorb or digest anything we were seeing because we were encapsulated in these immense moving mobs of people it was like being in a slow moving mosh-pit, and it was hot. I personally was uncomfortable with the volume of crowds, but there is little the tour company can do about that. One advantage to having this private tour is that we set the pace - if something was too crowded or unpleasant, we just left early and Vlad took us somewhere else. We were back at our boat well in advance of departure. Our family has pretty high expectations and this tour exceeded them.

We ended up in Rome on World Tourism Day! Probably the worst day to be there, but didn't know about it until it was too late to change our schedule. We contacted Viator while in Venice and set the the Rome tour up on the phone. We had a nice tour with skip-the-lines tickets and entrance. lines where unbelievable! Our driver, Roberto, got us to Vatican City from the cruise port, and then on to the Roman Coliseum. We also had tickets to the Forum, but there were so many people out on this day, Roberto took us to an over look to see the whole Forum. Nice! He showed us a great spot for lunch and then got us back to the port. We had a nice mini-van, spacious and comfortable for 4. Great job, Roberto! I totally recommend this tour, lots for your money!

Missing the lines is a must. Be prepared for the crowds inside the Vatican.

The tour was amazing! Our driver Vladimir was very kind and polite. A slight confusion on our initial pick up (don and #39;t take the bus he will pick you up literally a few steps from your cruise ship). Highly recommend this tour. It was nice to have skip the line tickets and avoid the VERY long lines

This was an awesome tour. Our vehicle was clean and comfortable and our driver/guide Fabrizio navigated the tight, pedestrian filled streets with ease. He had our tickets, showed us exactly where to enter and where to meet him when we were finished. He had extensive knowledge of the city, the streets and was happy to answer all of our questions. At our request he took us to a fabulous gelato shop before we headed back to the ship. No worries about getting back on time, he was very aware of our time and the traffic. This tour was well worth the money.

Is it even possible for a company to match the professionalism, good customer service and quality of Viator? Perhaps, but, as far as we are concerned, they must be few and far between. Our experience with this company, from start to finish, was wonderful. The icing on the cake was our driver, Fabrizio Rossi. All I can say is, if you can get this guy as your tour driver, you will not be disappointment. Likewise, if you use Viator as your tour company, no matter who you get as your driver, you will not be disappointed. Just call me Victor for Viator.

As we have never reserved a tour outside of our cruise ship, we were little reluctant to book, but after hearing great things from others, and wanting a tour that included all the things we wanted to see, we booked with Viator.

Viator contracts out these small tour groups of up to 8, and we ended up with Fabrizio Rossi, a fantastic driver and guide that owns his own van. It was clean and neat, and he even brought along a special seat for our daughter and a baby seat too. He picked us up right in Civitavecchia at our cruise ship, and got us back early for dinner and undocking.

We arrived in Rome, via tollway for speed, and first headed to the Vatican Museum, which gets busy early. Fabrizio gave us vouchers for tickets and told us where he'd meet us later, giving plenty of time to peruse the treasures of the Vatican.

He then took us to a local square where we had a great lunch of local pizza sold by the kilo. There was also a farmer's market that was fun to explore. Then we headed through the streets of Rome for awhile before heading to the Trevi Fountain. Fabrizio headed around the block, which gave us plenty of time to throw a coin and take a photo.

We headed back out into the city where he led us to a parking area near the rear of the Coliseum. He gave us our vouchers and waited while we took our time touring the ancient landmark. This is where our daughter was so excited to visit.

After that, we headed past the Hippodrome and up a small road only locals know about to see an overlook where we could see a lot of ancient Rome and the Forum.

On our way back to the ship, Fabrizio stopped by an ATM for us to grab some extra cash for a great tip! Then he led us to a local gelato shop where he helped us order the best cones we had on our trip.

We wouldn't hesitate to use Viator or even Fabrizio personally again! It was great to get a local perspective in such a historical place.

Excellent driver who got us to all the activities with lots of time to explore. It would have been nice to have a tour guide on this tour but otherwise it was excellent. Great value.
